Clay, how do you rate Schmitty's playing this season with the Canucks? I live in Vegas, and I am (of course) a Knights fanatic. However, we do miss him! How do you rate his playing/contribution to your team?

when everything works for the Canucks, they are better than most teams, offensive that is.
What letter grade would you give Jim Benning for his work at yesterday's trade deadline?
I like the benn move, finally get juolevi in to play some games but still not a fan of the gaudette move.

I think the gaudette trade will hurt us but the picks we can sure use in packages or even a late draft steal, not gonna be thinking down yet, GO CANUCKS GO but also Benning is not on the good list rn
I agree with you I think it is a c plus. I find it interesting that so many are complaining that we sold Gaudette low. The way I see it, the Canucks gave him a chance to step and he didn't take advantage of it. Had he performed as expected they would have either kept him or gotten more in a trade. For me this also shows the weakness in analytics, where Gaudette shines. He is getting great numbers on the analytics side but he isn't producing results. Hopefully HIghmore turns into another Motte. Canucks have drafted very well in later rounds under Benning, so any pick is a good pick.
I believe Benn did not want to go to Playoffs last yr-preferred time w girlfriend.. very late to Jan camp/missed games & also got/spread CoVid so he had more of a government attitude Can likely manage w a replacement. I think team did this to help him out – he clearly would not have liked the new schedule so I think he would be pleased. Gaudette may be a necessary PR move as he didn't protect himself from bringing CoVid into team.. New sshedule may really motivate the players that are recovering from CoVid

benning granted gaudettes wishes as he wanted a change of scenery. So to say thats a bad trade is wrong as Gaudette asked for this and Benning got what he could. The Benn deal as long as he got something nobody really cares if he got anything of substance unfortunately he couldnt get any other bad contracts out but he should have done those too. i know it was hard given the environment of the league during these times.

I would give him a D minus. I think he gave Gaudette away. I know people say give him a chance, but my thought is they both came in around the same time and Highmore has played half. To me there is reason players do not get played. You get a smaller a little slower guy who gets a lot less points. At least we got a pick for Benn. Bowey is a project. A questionmark. You don't know if he will make it or nor. It is all questionable unless like you said about the expansion draft.

We should’ve sold the farm. Sutter, Pearson, Virtanen, all could’ve gotten something (similar players traded proves this). Just terrible asset management
Benning threw away Tyler Madden for 17games of Toffoli, then he dumped Gaudette for an AHLer, plus paid out the league's most expensive (yet ineffective) 3rd, 4th lines and scratched players, how was this for asset and cap management?
I’m not keen on the gaudette trade but the other moves are fine.
