Michael Buble on the reaction to his Instagram posts, belief in Canucks management and more

Legendary Singer Michael Buble joined the guys and talked about the reaction to his thoughts about Canucks fans on Instagram earlier this week and why he believes Canucks management will turn this around.

  1. I disagree with some of what Buble said, but I think he is spot on about 80% of Canucks fans are not on Twitter. I refuse to be on 99% of social media because it's a toxic environment. We should know by now that saying something controversial on social media is just a way to get more clicks, likes and comments.

  2. I agree. I think nobody considers that there are things going on behind closed doors they have no clue about and therefore should have no opinion on. That applies to lots of other things in life than hockey.

  3. Buble's correct about the Canucks fans. Going back to losing Tanev, so many were happy to replace him with Schmidt. All the ones that never appreciated the Sedins and the ones that were calling to trade Petey. They're the same brain dead goons that think they know hockey but they're actually dumb.

  4. Buble is absolutely right. I've watched this fan base run Bure out of town, run Linden out of town, Kesler, Bieksa, Horvat and if they had their way they would have run the Sedins out of town. Just wait they'll be booing Quinn Hughes before long and forcing him to leave. Only then to welcome them back like heroes and blame management for those "terrifble decisions." I don't even mind the endless negativity but pretending as if everything is so easy and the right decisions are so obvious. This is just wrong.

  5. You even admitted it that you were expecting and ragging on the team prior to the Anaheim game

  6. Dude has a rink in his basement, Hockey Guy plays there sometimes. Buble outside of his day job is a fan just like us.

  7. 100% agree with Michael that there are too many in the "media" who pretend to know what they're talking about like they are some expert, but actually don't have a clue. Glad someone has the guts to call these imposters out!

  8. Deffinately bad luck is a huge factor. Our defence and goaltending is setup for years with young talent. Already developed some great bottom six pieces in Abby. Were just missing a few talented top six pieces and theres still lots of time to find them. Its not over yet.

  9. Canucks fans, the rabid ones anyway, can be super hostile and really abusive online. I don't know if it's the same everywhere but I had to leave the old CDC site because it was simply too aggressive and toxic. Hate to say it but some of these fans just suck.

  10. I wish Michael Buble would get a group together by the Vancouver Canucks said we'd have a real good team

  11. Objectively the majority of the media like Ryan or drance or brough that cover the Canucks have a vendetta or perceived slight by the management or the owner and actively root for the team to lose. It’s one of most bizarre things that make this market unique

  12. Never cared less about a guest. He’s a random armchair fan but he has money and fame so let’s hear his opinion I guess.

  13. He's right about locking up guys who want to be here. But on the other hand the team dishes out NMC's like candy and when they underperform it's crippling. The Canucks next season will have more NMC's than any other team. Not a good plan.
The media vs. the fans game is old hat though. Neither have actual influence on the team's performance, but the franchise likes to pretend they do, because then it excuses horrendous decisions made by management/ownership.
Too bad Ryan Reynolds already bought a sports franchise, but maybe he and Buble should somehow buy the Canucks.

  14. Great segment Gents. Thanks. I'm a Michael Buble Fan and have seen him in concert in Vancouver. I think Michael may have drank too much of the Kool Aid in regards to the Canucks. I've been a Canucks Fan since they were first in the NHL, and was a long time season ticket holder. One needs to take a step back to gain some perspective on this team. The Fact is they've never won a Stanley Cup, and never had a first overall draft pick. They have always been in the mushy middle, and overall mostly mediocre. Right now they have a third of the team manned by AHL players. Their new second line Center was recently waived through the league so he could have his multi-year contract terminated by the 27th overall Leafs! (He signed with the Canucks for less than half of it pro-rated for the rest of the season.) Their starting Goalie (N. Tolopilo) has 3 games of NHL experience (including the last game) and the back up (Patera) has 9 and got lit up badly his last time out (Florida had 8 Goals). Winger A. Bains has one Goal in 40 NHL Games! And on and on it goes. So Michael needs to give his head a shake. The Canucks management may have been good "back in the day" but the facts are they are 29th in a 32 team league. On December 9, 2021, Rutherford was named president of hockey operations and interim general manager of the Vancouver Canucks. He's coming up on his 4th anniversary of being in charge. After 24 games in that season the Canucks had 18 points, and were second from the bottom in the Pacific Division which is where they are today after 24 games with 22 points. The ownership fired the last GM (Benning) when the Canucks were this bad. I don't know how anyone can think the Canucks are a good team these days at 29th overall.

  15. All good, Love this dude..I used the world Karma all the time..it's negative energy, Maybe shouldn't have rioted cuz this teams going through hell!

  16. Way to stand up for BCs Team. Same age. Vancouver Canucks fan till the end! Grew up in North Vancouver just over the 2nd narrows bridge! 🤘🔨 👍👍

  17. This guy went to my buddy's highschool…I remember him telling me that before he got super famous 🙂

  18. It’s amazing how passionate us old timers are for the jersey/s as the “team” we fell in love with as kids ( maybe 82 ? ) is nothing like it is today, yet we would all bawl like babies if the Canucks ever won the cup.
My wife loves Bublé, wasn’t my music genre , but went to his show in Winnipeg, a couple years back. Left the show a fan of him, as a human. Beautiful human.

  19. Man I love Donnie and Rick but last year they purposefully drove the Petey vs JT beef as hard as they could for clicks and views – hiding behind the guise of "we're supposed to report the news." My issue is they went over the top with it. Today, they criticize how negative the fanbase is. A fanbase they helped cultivate. Irony

  20. Whether you agree or disagree, Buble could be doing a lot more with his time. He comes on because he genuinely cares for this team and also probably genuinely cares about how the people of Vancouver feel about him because of how much the city means to him. He could have the appreciation of the entire world but it means nothing next to the appreciation of just his hometown. I think Brian Fallon once said "You never get away from that thing in your hometown that it has over you. You dont outgrow where you come from."
