As a Red Wings fan, all I can say is "Why did it have to be the Avs?"
My boys! I mean, the key was just putting the right pieces around MacKinnon and Makar, and boy did they bolster that line-up. Drury, Nečas and even Bardakov and Brindley.
What's exciting is that we don't have any anxiety about goaltending. That alone is a massive upgrade on previous seasons.
I think a quote from mackinon before his cup win sums it up: "i haven't done shit in this league." He had around 10 trophies at that point, hearts, rockets. The cup is all that matters.

It's worth noting that the Avs were the best team in the regular season in 2022, but lost 6 of their last 7 games while resting players and ended up not winning the Presidents' Trophy. I think they're well aware how important a fully charged battery is for the playoffs, so expect them to lose a lot towards the end of the season if they're comfortably in the lead in their division.

Just started following NHL last year, and I choose the Av's as my team. I got a Av's hat and wear it everyday lol. Here in Australia it’s not that big but thanks to the internet it’s easier to watch. I also follow the Hawks and the Habs. The Avs are looking really good this year, hopefully they keep the momentum going, I'm excited!

When you rely on skating and speed to win games in the playoffs, a team is gonna come along and beat the shit out of you, break you down and throw you into quicksand…. A Florida Colorado Stanley Cup would be awesome to watch.
