Sounds like his goodbye speech!! We had 2 cup runs and years of not being able to get the ultimate goal of the cup he’s been out duelled countless times and hasn’t been that clutch goalie the oilers desperately need, great attitude and person but it’s time to move on. Thanks skinner .

It, takes a certain mind set, to play, the position, I played it for twenty, years, because I loved the game!I,don’t think, that I had the mind set to ever play in the NHL,it also takes a lot of physical talent!The truth is, the goaltenders, in the last, say twenty years have progressed, to in some norms, super goalies,size, flexibility, speed, quickness, poise!At 77, years old, and following the sport since the 1950 s taking nothing away, from, Clint Benedict, Tiny Thompson, Mike Karakas,,George’s Vezina, Turk Broda, Johnny Bower, and the rest, more players can really shoot the puck, hard and accurate, compared to years ago, equiptment, is such a big issue!I played from the sixties, to the early and mid 1990 s!Wow sometime in the mid ,even early ,1980 s, Vaughn,Brown, Dand R, out of Quebec, came up with way lighter, super more protective, arm pads, chest protectors, masks, gloves and blockers!I improvised a lot, with extra protection, a simple piece of styrofoam foam, taped under my blocker, helped against pucks dipping or deflected, busting my fingers on my stick hand,old baseball catchers, protective nylon shoulder caps sewn into the top corners of my chest protector,well it goes on!Whats the take on all you hockey plaudits on this subject!Thomas A.Filipiak Chicago!God Bless the Great White North!!!
This guy is incapable of looking at his play objectively. It's always we need, we must and NEVER I need to. He's an ahl level goalie and that's being nice. His play in the crease is laughable at times and his play outside the crease is horrendous. His glove hand is the worst I've ever seen. Please management wake the f**k up and trade skinner. For those who will say he got us to two stanley cup finals. He had 1 good game against Dallas in the first year and another one game in the in the second western final. When has he stole a game when the team is playing like garbage. Answer is you could count on one hand how many times hes stolen a game and it's not 5 so you decide.
Worst in the D zone & We give up the most chances out of every team can’t blame goalies when you’re giving up great As 8 times a game also not to mention we are one of the worst Offensive teams in the league can’t blame goalies every game when it’s the whole tram
Put him a better team and he will win cups. Oilers haven't got decent goaltending since ranford. They never seem to draft or sign good enough goalies. The curse of peter pocklington.
Performance aside , The toughest position in the game in one of the toughest markets in the game . I have the utmost repect for anyone who can go through what he's been through and still answer some of these b.s. questions with a smile on their face ….

The Oilers have had "goalie issues" for 2 decades now. Starting in 2006. At some point, you gotta hope that the fan base with get a brain and understand that there is something deeper than just swapping goalies every couple years. Ah well, it was nice while it lasted. Whatever fix Bowman is forced to do will keep the idiots happy for 2 months before they start pointing fingers again. Difference is, the next guy will be way more expensive and won't be better.

You’re not at Bad you took them to the playoffs two years in a row you can’t be that bad it takes a team effort and I think the guys in front better clean up their act first but everything comes down on the goalie when you lose look at Connor and the rest are not doing a great job out there either they stand there and watch looks like hopefully things change👍👍👍
