Guys fix F'ing defense! We shouldn't be giving up so many goals just in one game especially when we are putting up some decent offense performances like the last 2 games have been.
I love Todd's responses and way of thinking. I hate his lines. These roles he's been using them in just aren't working. Guys like Berggren and Soderblom are being wasted, Hamonic should not be getting so much more time than JBD, Finnie isn't a top line player and would give a boost to the bottom six…etc. Gotta make bigger changes, because this team has been average for a lot of the season so far.

I really feel like the team — and honestly a lot of players across the league — are distracted. These guys are NHL players, but the focus just isn’t there. There’s too much scrolling, too much social media, too much gaming, too much “off-ice fun,” and not enough attention to the details required to win.
Defensively, the attention span looks weak. The discipline is inconsistent.
I really like Todd McLellan — he’s a great communicator and speaker — but I’m not sure he comes down hard enough on the lack of discipline. Losing is losing. You can call up as many Grand Rapids players as you want, but if the overall mindset isn’t focused, the results won’t change.
Players going home to relax, eat, or game is fine — but eventually the attention has to snap back into place. The work ethic and sharpness need to be higher. The talent is there, but what this team needs is consistent focus, accountability, and discipline shift-to-shift.
Just look at the Florida Panthers — that’s a team of grown men who won two Cups and nearly a third because they stayed locked in. Meanwhile, too many of the Wings’ younger players look like the next-generation, attention-deficient type of players.
Maybe the Red Wings need to focus less on “upgrades” and more on teaching these young guys how to eliminate distractions off the ice, stay disciplined, and truly commit to the details that win championships.
There is no grit. There is no real toughness. My sister could outcheck this club. Yzerman, they need some real meanest injected. Trade some talent for toughness.
I love that todd doesnt coddle them. Jvr scores a goal, ya but they got scored on a couple times so…we gave it back. He wont let the homer reporters try to put postive spin on a bad team.
The basic truth is Yzerman has built a team that lacks competitive fire and basic hockey IQ! It’s INCREDIBLE to say that but it’s true! Who would’ve thought?!?
It’s Amazing! Everything Yzerman said he wanted to find in players, he found the opposite. Lack of competitiveness and lack of hockey IQ. This is HIS MESS and I’m afraid he’s going to half to tear this apart and start over.

The Red Wings are 7-8 w Hamonic in the lineup, and 1 of those wins was in OT, and another 2 were in the shootout. The Wings are 4-8 in regulation with Travis Hamonic.
The Red Wings are 6-2-1 without Travis Hamonic in the lineup, 5-2 in regulation without Hamonic in the lineup.
At some point this coach has to take responsibility and apologize to his players and the fans for what he's decided to do this season w this player. He has ruined the entire season for this guy.
No other coach in the NHL would have played Travis Hamonic tonight after that last game, not even w Edvinsson out. Only Todd.

You guys need to relax and not get so high and low, it's a long season, yes it's frustrating and I want them to make the playoffs but if they don't it's not the end of the world. Just enjoy the games and watching the young guys, don't get so upset.
Too much dead weight on this team……..including Patrick Kane. Sick of the lack of effort he puts in as he coasts around. Larkin was garbage tonight. ASP just isn't cutting it at NHL level. Hamonic is just another woeful Yzerman free agent signing. Kasper is invisible and useless this season. Teams rebuilding after the Wings are already turning a corner.

Travis Hamonic has played 14 games this season. In his last 10 games, the Red Wings are losing 0-11 at 5v5 when Hamonic is on the ice.
