Oilers Embarrassed Again… | Jamie McLennan & Ryan Rishaug | The Nielson Show | 11-26-25

Another really tough showing for the Edmonton Oilers as they get absolutely wrecked by the Dallas Stars 8-3. On today’s show, we’ll make light of the terrible performance from the Oilers last night, and try to look at the positives. But also, enough is enough. This team has no identity. Is completely lost on and off the ice. And absolutely deserve to get ripped. So buckle up, this should be a good one.

Today’s Guests:

Jamie McLennan – TSN

Eric Macramalla – EST Legal Analyst

Ryan Rishaug – TSN

  1. Connor,no such thing as a D-zone System…….defense is a byproduct of the System ,only a part of a much bigger Program, you cannot parse the 2 issues of Offense and Defense seperately because both are simply parts of the System…in other words the Oilers have 2 brains working 1 set of hands and its causing disconnects…they need to get with todays cutting edge Systems and start letting 1 brain tell both hands what to do…yes its new,yes its hard to change, but thats what Paul Coffey was trying so hard to teach…in todays NewAge NHL Era the Systems are BRAND NEW as in never seen before not re-treads as has been the case through the NHLs entire History. Systems today use Intuitive Dynamic Analysis and Intuitive Dynamic Management to speed up all aspect of the game by 4-5x….. you ether understand and recognize the terminology or you are still on the outside looking in. The System is suppossed to prevent you from having to endure extended D-zone firedrills because it works to not let the pucks find there way into your zone or stay there very long. Gap management = SUPPORT…Gap management + cohesive movement and is SYSTEM dictated to EVERYONE in todays cutting edge Systems but not for the Oilers who force Individuals to manage Gap control making all these decisions on their own hoping all 5 guess the same a lot of times in every game, its the core value reason the Panthers KOed them 2x the same way.
