No right words to put this, just emotions and hapiness. Insane how you are able to not only do this but also take us onto a ride of your journey. You show us power comes from within but spreads like a wildfire into friends and community. Thank you
Congrats Eric!! You should be proud of yourself for battling through all those obstacles, and being so open about your struggles, it takes a lot of courage 🙂 You've really inspired me (and I'm sure many others) to build my body back up from injury and get back into climbing after a rough couple of months, so thank you ❤️
This is so inspiring, last few years have been really tough on me, since august I have been dealing with injury after injury in my climbing as well and not being able to climb or climb less have been influencing my mental health ever more. I cried almost the whole video through, you are giving me hope that I can overcome these challenges and have fun climbing again, thank you so much for this and I wish you the best moving forward!
My man. Congrats on that journey. Theres a lot that can happen over 5 years and you made sure it was a lot. Inspirational and a huge achievement. Love the energy. Keep it up man! Only the best for you!
I had a horrible injury a year ago and couldn't walk let alone climb. Your content kept my body going through the horribly painful exercises, kept me thinking about climbing again and kept me in contact with my old self.
Thanks man; for every laugh, for every incredible video and for capturing every time Nikken / Theo blew my mind sending insane problems.
This is the second time I’ve watched this video and you really lit a fire in me to get back into climbing shape. After a really bad finger injury, and body pains I fell off the wagon and focused more on my second hobby woodworking and gained a bit of weight from it. I’ve been this month trying to get back into climbing shape and begins climbing again and this video was the motivation I needed to hear. I’ve been watching your channel for the past 7 years and I really believe you are the first pioneer of indoor climbing videos and your story and perseverance in inspiring. You have an amazing skills with cinematography and I hope to see your channel continue to grow. It’s one of my favorites. Mad respect for your transformation.
I started bouldering round the same time this channel started to become popular. Bouldering brought me so much, but I will always connect bouldering to you, your crew and your channel. Thank you (guys). Glad to see you're back. Wish you all the best
Tack för dina fantastiska videor! So good and so much self-discipline! If you travel to germany again visit the bouldering area of bahratal and sneznik!
Eric, I found your channel in early 2021, right when you started focusing on route setting with Nikken/theo, the lads. Shortly after in '22 I had a big wall fall that landed poorly. I broke my foot, sprained my ankle, and damaged some cartilage. I now have arthritis in my right ankle and it has massively changed my life, much in the same way your injury did yours. Walking is now a trying feat, jumping down from a boulder top is out of the question. Climb downs are necessary for every route I finish. Canes and compression socks are now mandatory to go outside just like clothes and shoes. Watching your progress and your resilience despite all the self doubt you experience is heartbreaking. I know how miserable the bad days are and how frustrating it is to constantly have a better past you to compare to.
Thank you for your stories and continued efforts. It reminds me to keep trying. If you can, we can.
I started following the evening after my first ever climbing session. That was in April 2016. I'm forever grateful for you being my companion in this bouldering journey for so many years and so many hours spent watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Congratulations man! I'm sitting at 85kg/187lbs myself, and at 178cm/5'10ish I have to drop down something like 8kg/20lbs just to be not 'overweight'. Let alone healthy! Climbing is a really good incentive to lose weight though.
I've tried (and succeeded!) at losing weight before, but it always creeps back up for me. When you do your followup video, please include what your plan is to keep the weight off. That's the hardest part for lots of people, so any advice would help.

As a psychologist I can say this is the kind of content humanity really needs. Thank you
Love your weight loss experience. No one who never tried to lose weight will really know how hard it is… Hunger, Cravings, Yoyo effect are real.
