He should have told them that he will sign for 12 at the end of this season to see who they hire and who they sign. Knowing the Oilers they will use the extra $ to sign Kevin Lowe in the front office and Grant Fuhr in net
McDavid is a saint!
I don’t understand how this guy garners such money…I mean, we’ve seen him choke when it counted in two consecutive Stanley Cup Finals! however, before this season is over, we will all see how badly he should’ve tried to be elsewhere because Edmonton is still overrated…
My guess is he saw enough potential in the young players through pre-season and figured if you couple that with a discount, the Oilers would be as well positioned as anyone else to win over the next 3 years.
