Who's the last player montreal signed during the season that was worth anything? Jiri Sekac? Bottom line. Atleast with Texier if it doesn't work out we can send him to laval
this is a no lose situation I don't see why some people don't like this
Free pickup, no assets given up. No downside. Pretty straightforward
Just letting you know I’ve been tuned in my whole vacation from across the world in South Africa and now in Dubai. Shaun and Marco are worldwide!
The next Cristobal Huet !
This was the Slafkovsky I was waiting to see. Keep him exactly where he is.
I dont care how you pronounce his name. As a life long habs fan in Texas, HE IS NOW TEX. WELCOME TO THE TEAM, TEX!!!!!😂
Bolduc is having difficulties on the top line, how about F,Xhekaj he can add the size Slafkovsky did
Veleno 2.0 nothing to see here
It's free depth. Veleno shouldn't play every game. Davidson, xhekaj and Roy aren't developed yet. All have a use. Florian will be useful on this road trip.
Shaking himself off, ha!
Did the Habs management drop the ball with the development or Roy and Beck?
I get the whole adrenaline piece with Flo but what’s the more development for, he plays like an NHL checking line player and will only get better with the experience in the NHL. Players don’t get better playing lower levels, I’ve never seen a kid come up to be lights out cause he got ‘developed’ in the AHL.if he shows he can play, let him play, if not AKA Roy then send him down
After consulting with the French media, Captain Marty St. Louis of the good ship Lolypop 🚢 took these words to heart, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead".
The French media convinced Captain Marty St.Louis that he could actually drop a massive, frozen Iceberg right in the path of the good ship lolypop without any risk of damaging the hull of the ship 🚢 and speed along atop of the NHL standings.
The ship builders (Montreal's new Mgmt- GM & CEO) took their time building this ship ordering the strongest of steels (draft picks/trades) to make sure the good ship lolypop was close to unsinkable. So much so, that if they ran into rough seas 🌊 (losing players to injuries) and icebergs ( Monty, then Dobes going stone cold in nets) the impressive experience and navigational skills of Captain Marty St. Louis would get the ship through the roughest of seas 🌊.
It turned out unfortunately, that the talent in the wheelhouse of the good ship lolypop was never as good as thought.
Instead of a goalie coach solving the goaltending problems on the team, he kept ordering that icebergs be dropped in front of the good ship lolypop 😢 while Captain Marty was making public statements to the media that dropping icebergs in front of the ship was the right move 😂.
The shipbuilders had so much faith in Captain Marty St.Louis that they decided it was also a good idea to trade away the lifeboats on deck of the ship which would normally be used to protect the crew if they needed to use the boats if the seas got too rough.
On Saturday the good ship lolypop managed to find a safe harbor after they hit the Washington hurricane on Thursday.
On Saturday, Captain Marty St.Louis ordered his crew to effect repairs to the ship and called the ship builders to order in parts and some life boats because they were set to depart for a long and treacherous western voyage next week.
Marty is hoping that 🙏 will help him overcome his inability to read navigational charts and hope that the steel on the good ship lolypop won't be bent out of shape and suffer the same fate as the Titanic. 😢😢
I can't understand why you keep on bringing up Roy. He had several chances and has shown very little. Lets face it, he is a good AHL player nothing more. It is like Primeau, until they realized that he is not NHL material. Not only did the Habs finally figure this out, but the other teams came to the same conclusion.
the Habs have not been playing well this year. Far below what I believe most people expected. A big reason for this is goaltending. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Monte is NOT a legitimate #1 goaltender, and neither is Dobes.
That all said, I'm beginning to wonder if St. Louis has taken this team as far as it's going to go
My intuition tells me that the reason Engstrom was recalled. Is that they are showcasing him for a trade with a specific team.
Roy is useless. Davidson inexperienced. Florian probably needs to go back if they really want to develop him at center. Laine, Dach, Newhook injured…they needed an NHL body badly.
The lesson from the Texier pickup is that nobody of value is available.
If one million a year won’t hurt you. Send it my way. I promise you I won’t hurt you or disrupt your line up.
The NHL's where Laval guys hone their AHL skills.
Is Texier an upgrade vs Sammy Blais ?
Joshua Roy…has turned into a total let down…his trajectory has only gone downhill…time to trade him in a package…or send him back to Laval…
Forget Kirby Dach…even healthy he does not fit in with this group…
Texier, speed ? Are we talking about the same player ? I'm french, have followed Texier his whole career and i wouldn't put his speed as his main asset, not before his hand-eye coordination in tight spaces at the very least. But what Texier brings more is anticipation and an ability to read the opponents game like few guys can, which makes him a more than decent PK specialist and THAT's what the team's been missing the most in the absence of Newhook after having parted ways this summer with Dvo & Armia. Which is also something that's a bit hard to ask from most prospect in Laval. This ability to read the game and anticipate he exploits it at 5 on 5 mostly by making himself forgotten, almost floating, at the blue line, which kinda renders mad coachs who'd love him to backcheck &/or cover passing lanes a lot more, but this allows him to start rushes real quick to give that illusion of speed when in fact his skating speed's rather average his stride being a bit too choppy to be truly efficient.
The habs just keep getting nobody’s
Where's Elliotte Friedman, that guy you have on you video cover?
How the Habs do on their western swing will be telling. They can't continually count on the bottom nine or the defence to provide all the offence, without the Suzuki line firing on all cylinders, the Habs don't win.
Although, Suzuki played better against the Leafs, Caufield needs to break out of his slump (1g, in last 6 games). Plus, it looks like Bolduc isn't the answer on the left side, as the whole line looks disjointed.
Still wearing shorts here in bc
What’s the word on Davidson? Is he going to miss time?
He also brings questionable two-way play and consistency.
We need Florian on the big club! His devellopement will be done in the Nhl in is case because he already brings in an x factor…Even if what we saw on saturday would be is celing, I am ok with it!
