  1. This team is a decade long display of what you get with all the talent money can buy and absolutely zero guts and will to win. They will NEVER do it. They were finished after the game seven Montreal loss.

  2. This team has close to zero shot at a championship.

Tanking gets them a shot at a high end player that might help them soon enough to impact the Matthews window.

If a championship is the goal the right move is sell and make sure you keep that 1st this year.

But the goal is playoff gate $ and so we're going make the shortsighted decision and scrape and claw our way to mediocrity.

  3. MLSE botched the whole build back in 2022-23 before the NMCs kicked in. Then the Leafs knew the core wasn't going to have any kind of break out, that they were what they showed themselves to be, highly talented and skilled, but soft. So that was the time to retool, when they had great asset value. Dubas knew their time was up and wanted to make a change, MSLE said NO and fired him. The only logical reason to fire him at that moment in time was to get to the playoffs a couple more times before those contracts expired (Profit not winning). Enter Treliving, Now, my personal opinion here is that cash strapped Treliving went out and got himself gritty but old, slow and injury prone players, that when healthy play well, just not well enough to win it all. Now the injury depleted Leaf's are in freefall and with their D failing the goalies are in danger of even more injures. This era has been a total waste of good assets that set the Leafs back another 10 years. I am 70 now and been a fan since 62, I hold NO hope of ever seeing them win another championship. This is 100% on MLSE's management incompetence. The only path forward is to blow it up, dump the whole lot and press reset. Don't get your hopes up because MLSE's management priority is not about building champs.

  4. The points behind are really not relevant. It is the number of teams ahead of you and the number of games in hand or behind meaning team A is 4 points ahead and has played one less game. Even if you have three teams like that and not 8, the teams ahead have to lose each game they have in hand while you win all of your games. When there are several teams ahead keep in mind they play each other so the teams ahead are always getting points. So every time you lose teams ahead are moving further ahead. It is not like running where you can pass every body.

  5. Don’t allow Treliving to do anything not even changing the toilet paper FIRE him immediately I am certain there are still people out there won’t agree the urgency until he completely kill the team completely inside out

  6. I will say this How many teams out of the 76% were teams that weren't gonna make the playoffs at the beginning of the season.. I'd like to know the percentage of the teams that everyone thought was gonna make the playoffs at the beginning of the season
