  1. This what I'd like to see; when Mcdavid comes back put that line of Pouliot-Mcdavid-Yak back together. Get Yaks points back up and trade him while he's high for a legit 1-2 Defencemen.
    We weren't making the playoffs this year but I was hoping they were going to make it close. Don't do any drastic because we're in last. Open up the cap space, build up Yak and try for next year.
    Feel everyone's pain but don't trade good players for magic beans…

  2. I completely agree with your idea of the Oilers' core. Its true, Defenders and Centers are the most important skaters on a hockey team, which is why I wasnt a fan of picking Taylor over Tyler and why I was legitimately pissed when the Oilers drafted Yakupov over who I wanted, Ryan Murray. However, I really like Jordan Eberle and I would hate to see him go. Hall and Yakupov can go for the right peaces back in my opinion. No disrespect to those players, its the simple fact that you have to give up something good to get spmething good back.

  3. i don't think the oilers need hamonic. but if we were to trade for him we should trade Eberle and some 2017 draft picks. we should trade Eberle because he is almost unstoppable during the playoffs or in any very important games. sure he is not awesome during the regular season but the islanders are always in the playoffs. and just like you said you don't build your team on wingers. so we get a great defence and new york get get a guy who great during the playoffs

  4. I would put Hall with the core. Eberle or Yakupov is expendable, Oilers have too much holes to fix in one season. A power forward, 3rd line C(well the whole 3rd line), 1 or 2 right handed Top 4 D-Man, a starting goalie. I would love for Oilers too trade for Hamonic but they dont have the right pieces.

  5. I think the package from the Oilers should include Mark Fayne, Nikita Nikitin, and a 1st round pick.

  6. I think the Oilers shouldn't spark a deal with the Isle for Hamonic. I think what they should do though, is trade away the first round pick if it is high in the draft for a quality defenseman. Because I am okay with riding this year out, its just stepping stones for a better Oilers next year. Secondly I agree to some of the players on your core list, but not all. I agree that we should keep Mcdavid, which they will, and trade either the Nuge, or Leon, because we don't need 3 good center men. Darnell and Oscar I agree with to. I would also keep a winger in there as well, like Hall or Yaks maybe. Because usually every center man has that go to winger. Oh and I think the sweater is sick!

  7. Another thing as well, do the fans say "boo" when the Nuge touches the puck or do they say "Nuge" I am not to sure. If they do say "boo" why is that? I know this has nothing to do with the video, but it would be nice to know your insight on this.

  8. Not worth it to trade; Hall, Drai, RNH, CSP, Ebs, Nurse and Klefbom.

    Could be moved without leaving a gap in our lines; Yak, Schultz, Pou, Purcell, Davidson, Reinhart, Hendricks. But there's a few of these players that we wouldn't even get a reasonable return on.

  9. If only;

    1A Hall – Drai – Purcell
    1B Pou – RNH – Ebs
    1C Korpi – CSP – Yak
    Hendo – Letestu – Klink
    Gazzybear

    Klefbom – Schultz
    Nurse – Sekera
    Davidson – Reinhart
    Gryba

    You could argue that Purcell and Schultz gets shipped. Reinhart stays in the minors over the course of the year to grow. Obvs Korpi/Klink being on 3rd LW could work or crash and burn. The D corps needs another 1-3 years depending on how this year ends (could manifest into legit D lines for the 2017-2018 season). Point being, besides the D corps we have question marks throughout the team including Purcell, how the top 6 will unfold when we're not plagued with IR, and how our 3rd line looks like after the top 6 is ironed out. You have pairs in our top 9 being Hall-Drai, RNH – Ebs, CSP – Yak. Klinkhammer and Korpi are question marks because of the limited pool to draw from. Pou/Purcell have been either really good or terrible. Hendo/Letestu have been ok if not solid this season. Hendo the horse.

    I could live with this next year;
    Hall-RNH-Drai
    Pou-CSP-Ebs
    3LW-3C-3RW
    Hendo-Letestu-4RW
    Gazzybear

    Klefbom-Nurse
    Sekera-Top 4 X
    Davidson-Reinhart
    Gryba

    With 1 of if not all Yak, Korpi, Klink, Purcell, and Schultz getting shipped for void fillers and our Dlines mixing and matching with what we get in return. We also of Yakimov, Slepyshev, Khaira, and Pakarinen that could fill our 3rd line depending with how we role it out and what we get/keep for next year.The issue with building a team around a select "core" is that half of our team is already filling their roles nicely, so what's the need to replace? We need a 3rd C as is and anti injury pieces. Our 3rd line is up in the air. Yak only performs with CSP and apparently can't fucking finish the dozens of chances he gets every game prior to his injury and post CSP. Anton Slander. Dcorps not solitifed with their pairings. No legit #1 Dman this year with Nurse / Klefbom filling the picture in the coming 1-3 years depending on how they evolve. Wing depth is lackluster besides a few pieces in the system. It's easy to say ship this piece for a #1 Dman, but we have holes and question marks everywhere .

  10. One thing I'm curious on as it's bound to not be the focal point, but what is your thoughts on some bottom-6 guys, namely Lander?

  11. Your sweater should come with the same type of warning that video games have…."may cause seizures for certain people. "

  12. I think the oilers should use that first round pick to get their top 2 or 4 d man during the season or the offseason. If oilers are going to have a top 5 pick this year, that is going to be attractive for other teams. Even though Jakob Chychurn is going to be great, oilers need help now and a established d man in his prime would help the oilers a lot more.

  13. Great sweater, fully agree and I think Hall is absolutely also part of the core.  If I think of untouchable, all those players you mentioned plus Hall.

  14. Great analysis coming from an Islanders fan. You should have more subscribers. Also amazing sweater, I love the colors. Today im just glad to announce we are keeping hammer on the Islanders because we never would have received equal value for him. More or less what you just said. Hall is more or less comparable stat wise to Kyle Okposo. Neither blows me away, but you certainly wouldn't turn them down. You guys have a great young core, and hopefully they continue to develop around McDavid. That being said, your goaltender situation needs to be addressed as I think Talbot was a flash in the pan, time will tell. Reminds me of our goaltender situation with a backup in net. As well, the defense is awful and hammer would have helped tons, something to address during the draft perhaps. Good luck, I know what its like to live through a rebuild. LETS GO ISLANDERS
