They need a star. They don’t have even one. Most teams have a superstar, this team lacks a star. Just a bunch of passengers.

I agree, they wanted to build around Thomas and Kyrou, but the newer pieces have been more consistenly impactful. I do feel that a change is needed and the difficult discussions will need to be had. There are other pieces that will likely need to go as well before moving on.
The blues wanted to “retool” by getting rid of those leadership guys (Tarasenko, ROR, Barby, petro), but the newer core is not cutting it.
That being said, I think we will likely need to move more than just Thomas or Kyrou to make this team a competitive unit again. Parayko, Broberg, Snuggy, Dvo, Holloway, and Neighbours might be the only guys I would consider off limits at this point.

You cant complain about Thomas and Kyrou being the "core". Ownership does not want to go through a proper rebuild, so no top 5 pick. Yes, i know nothing is a guarantee….but you have a much better chance of getting a superstar with higher picks. Thomas and Kyrou are great players, but if they cant elevate their game, then it is what it is. Its by committee.
Now onto Buchnevich, stop coddling him. He's a professional hockey player who more often then not, a negative asset on the ice. Scratch him, its that simple. If he has a mental breakdown over that, then waive him, send him to Springfield. If he refuses, terminate his contract.
This has needed and still needs grit. Coaching change isn't the answer. Soft playes with secure contracts means we are stuck with this mess for the foreseeable future. This pod cast on Christmas Eve will be interesting. The "skill" we have ain't winning games but Army needs to own the funk. It's his doing

The blues have no true superstar. We never have (well recently). We have no Tkachuck, no McDavid, No Mathews…

My 2 cents is that the blues may just need to make some structural changes to their game in terms of how they play offense and defense.
Only the Republican party is tougher to watch than the Blues in overtime.
If you want to wake the blues up, put some of them on waivers! What the heck do you have to lose? Buchnevich on waivers is going to clear and what a better wake up call than playing some in the AHL. If he doesn’t clear waivers, you just got a bunch of cap space for someone that can make a difference. I think it would wake up the entire team.

They should start with moving Buchnevich, & work from there . Schenn would be the next one & that's because of the leadership factor .
A team will only go as far as, their captain will take them .
It's what I've been saying for a few seasons. It's not the coach. Berube was a perfect coach for this team along with Montgomery. It's the core that was constructed by Armstrong. I cannot blame Army as he was trying to construct a younger team and was fooled by both Thomas and Kyrou as being future leaders for this club after winning the Cup with a veteran-laden and led team. This is the bed that was made, and we as fans have to lie in it.

Should we be reminded where the Blues were in 2018? On this exact day, 11/19, in 2018, the Blues fired Mike Yeo and hired Craig Berube because their record was 7-9-3. What happened that season?
Their current record is 6-9-5. Same amount of points as in 2018. Plenty of time to turn the season around. Keep that in mind. Vive la Note!!!
Seriously, how can you lose Pavel Buchnevich any further? Has to be the dumbest take on this? Also if he cannot be criticized in practiced because he will start moping, it is time for him to be no longer on the team. i dont care how much he is paid and how much it will hurt the team financially. He is hurting this team far worse.
