Well that was ugly from start to finish. Maybe Conroy and the management staff should hold off on signing guys like Zary, and Wolfe etc etc to big deals until there entry level contracts are done. At least Huska didn’t say the repetitive comment about seeing good things in their game tonight. If that had been Sutter behind that bench instead of him, asses would have been kicked, and some players sent down. There’s losing with effort, and some fight. But that was embarrassing. The team is completely lost, and looks scared.
The Flames are so good at crashing the net these days: their own! Stop backing up into your goaltender. All the forwards are rotten this year – Zary and Huberdeau are afraid of contact in general now and dont go to the net as much as they used to, but pretty much all the forwards dont go to the high-danger areas.. completely perimeter.. the D is creeping in so high at times because the forwards are useless… same old bad habits.. and Sharky is still awful, whenever he's in, we lose.. he just gives up on plays.
It's funny that Backlund loses the puck by accident and it ends up being an awesome feed to Ras.. lol, Backs didnt even know how he did it probably. Coleman and Bahl had a rough night. Seems that it's 50/50 with who is prepared for the game each night. The 4th line looked great tonight though with Morton in there – he's the energy that brings that line up, hate to say it but Kerins was too slow. It's a shame the rest of the team cant play with that juice the 4th line had tonight.
Huska should watch a bit of game tape himself (from the era of Bagger Bob) The greatest Coach Calgary has ever had. He could learn how to maintain a positive outlook when things are not going exactly the way you want in the moment. Appreciate that guys are giving you what they have to give, and are up against a level of talent he hasn’t got to rely on. I believe its call slotting. The guys you have on a first line are better if they are a second line and so on down the line up. Crapping on guys isn’t going to result in their suddenly becoming more than what they are. Or make them younger.

They were sluggish and Wolf screwing up did not help.

Coaching, if well coached the flames would play better, no matter talent level.
