We NEED to talk about this HIT…

During a Leafs Development Camp intrasquad scrimmage, Leafs prospect Nolan Dillingham absolutely leveled another Leafs prospect, Roni Hirvonen. This is Dillingham’s style of game, and while the hit in question was certainly clean, was it needed? Leave a comment below on what YOU think!

  1. That’s just hockey and the nature of competitive sports. It’s probably the biggest issue fans deal with from the NFL. The on the field product of American football has greatly declined in my eyes due to the fact you can’t hit the QB without a 15 yard penalty and 100k fine. Corners and safeties can’t play the ball, and linebackers get punished for bad passes and good hits. With no threat of big hits, how are defenseman going to play defense? At a minimum it takes the game of hockey and makes it softer and less entertaining. If you don’t wanna get hit, then don’t play. There’s a reason some guys are being paid many millions to hold a stick, throw a ball, or shoot a jump shot.

If you are a winger and don’t want to get hit, a QB who is afraid of getting hurt, or a baseball player fearing getting plunked by a fastball… THEN FIND ANOTHER CAREER!!!

  2. Hey yo. It is what it is. That's not even nhl level yet. It only the rookie development camp. Want to make it? Keep your goddam head up!

  3. You asking this question alone makes you sound like a pussy. Top prospect and getting ran over like that? Guy wasn’t a top prospect to begin with. Rather have homie laying the hits then some little loser in medical tent for concussions.

  4. Sarnia used to be known for this kind of game a very physical playstyle not a shock he comes from the sting. All in all clean hit keep your head up

  5. There are only a few NHL Jobs open every year, and as a Player, you do WHATEVER IT TAKES. YOU know what they say about the Kitchen, IF IT'S TOO HOT, GET OUT. Remember Scott / Kariya hit ? It'll TEACH the victim to keep his head UP.

  6. Not on the same team if you’re playing against each other… even in a sub-par Canadian league if you’re on the same team in the show.

  7. The old coach always told us to look up, you get hit on open ice, then you're at fault. look up and then the hit won't hurt or you wont get hit in the first place

  8. They should learn to throw & take a hit.
If you're slow on one, it has consequenses, period.
(The best has to learn early to avoid dirty hits as well. One of the reasons hits has to be allowed in the minors; otherwise, WHEN(not if) the hit happens, the risk for injury is minimized but the physical pain is the same.)

    As when learning to walk.

The fall is lower the younger you are.

The ones who love the game loves it. The others quit or do not learn.

That is one of the reasons we love the heroes out there.

  9. There has to be competitiveness in training camp everyone there is fighting for a spot on the roster or even just playing time, treat it like a real game it gets u prepared for the upcoming season if u are the lucky few that get selected, as for the hit I love it that’s his style of hockey and he has to showcase it somehow to get noticed 💯

  10. Nah it’s hockey. That is literally how I have played triple a my whole career is by being the most physical guy on the Ice at all times

  11. No issues. Kid is battling for a spot showing what he can bring. If anything Leafs should be talking to the kid about not looking at his laces 🤷

  12. That was "Willy Nylander" who took that R.I.P. lay down statue hit to the ice.. Wakey Wakey Nylander & keep ur head up above the ice not laying down on the ice..

  13. The Leafs should call him up! They need a guy like this on the ice. Regarding the hit, clean imo. This is no different than a Trouba or Zadorov hit. Also, this is the NHL. Keep your head up at all times. Hope he makes a speedy recovery and bounces back.
