Don’t blame Dobes -the Defence stunk

While the the D core needs to continue to progress, this notion that "their giving up so many scoring chances" is just plain wrong. The Habs are currently 8th in high danger chances allowed. Yet rank near the bottom in goals against…hmmm, I wonder where the CLEAR problem lies in the GA department?
Bring up Fowler give him his shot
Bring up Florien and Tyler Thorpe. Need large bodies to rough up opponents
We can't trade for a goalie, that would be desperate. Dobes is still a rookie, and he has played good games this year, and also beat top teams last year. We have Fowler also. They say two in the bush is worth one in your hand. We got two in the bush as in Dobes and Fowler, who can potentially be starters. On that note, I don't think trading for a guy who we don't know will help will work. We have tons of prospects that still may make an impact. Yes we're a little injured now, but I don't think it's panic button time for goalies. I would prefer Reinbacher coming up to help our D. Matheson is playing tons of minutes because he's still a top defender on our team, but in all honesty he should be more of an offensive type defence man. Reinbacher can help I think. If he plays well he stays when Ghule gets back. Roll the dice a bit
IMO …. letting Jake Allen go was a big mistake. Monty has never been or will ever be a number one goalie
Change our goalie coaches, play defense oriented boring hockey and jump on opportunities and bring up Kak from Laval while Monte re-learns how to stay between the pipes, stops over-playing shots and gets an appointment to see an optometrist to fix his distance eye-sight.
Have to note that Dobes was already showed signs of cracking during the Seattle game (it was mentioned that he apparently blamed his teammates) and his emotional breakdown after the NJ OT game. During the Starr D'Amico podcast, D'Amico he has been in various opposing teams' dressing room and has heard they each have a playbook on not just Monty, but Dobes. Eric Raymond has his work cut out for him.

Just let Dobes play 3 in a row and I guarantee you success we need to stop juggling goalies every match, use them for 2-3 matches in a row before rotating

We should never rush Fowler knowing Marty isn’t gonna give him many games it’s not a win win for Fowler

Who are they gonna trade, though?? After the inevitable injuries to to the injury-prone players HuGo loves to acquire, and their not-great moves this summer, there's nothing left in the cupboard to trade.
imo Get Kaapo Kahkonen to replace either dobes or monty, but trading them isn't not a good idea because in my eyes dobes is a very good goalie and is having this dip like you mentioned since he needs experience. also getting a new goalie coach seems to be an option
It's not about us being 'young' or 'immature', it's about HuGo not getting us a 2C, always targeting injury-prone players to 'build' this team around, and generally failing in so many areas. We have less depth in our system today than we've had for years. They've frittered away so much of the draft capital that Bergevin left them with. Our best players are still Suzuki & Caufield. This 'rebuild' under their watch hasn't gone well at all.
Bring up the best defense from Laval and bench Xjak!

Coaching is the main problem
If MSL starts Monty on Saturday night, he might as well start packing his bags. He had the hottest goalie in the NHL and he sat him out to try and get Monty to regain his confidence, The problem is, Monty's never set, never in the right position. He plays way too deep in the net and NEVER challenges an shooter. I'm not sure I've ever seen him use his sick to poke check and his glove hand is far too slow. He needs to get sent down and work on his mechanics if he's going to make it..
I think the habs should fire the goalie coach and bring up the rockets coach!!! I think we need a new voice. I think they should trade for a goalie and put montembault on waivers 👋

Canadians always flips and are finding new goalies when team plays like shit. Mtl just needs to play tighter couple of games and get team rolling. These mid season lows are sometimes really lows for young rosters.
