Rantanen didn’t get pushed. Mayfield used his stick to impede him and give Romanov another split second of time. Rantanen wasn’t falling when making contact with Romanov and then extended his arms.
Is Rantanen a dirty player, idk. Does he have a history, no. Should he still be suspended for this hit for 2-3 games, absolutely.

Rantanen is not that type of player. Play was fast and I think him losing his balance was the cause.

You can see in the clip that Mayfield and Rantanens feet get tripped up. That's what causes Rantanen to lose balance and slightly push Romanov.
