  1. John Stockton wasn’t even in the league till the 84-85 season the 84 dream team was the 83/84 players. How did a college player get snubbed from an Olympics team? Suck him harder I’m sure he needs more glazing

  2. Stockton was not snubbed in 1984. He was a complete no name out of Gonzaga, when it wasn't a major program, and made a name for himself in the Olympic Tryouts. He said it created a lot of buzz for him, and got him drafted much higher than he anticipated.

  3. I'm glad he never won a ring amd I'm glad that Chicago is the reason why.

Hell yeah, he was outstanding. But that guy's a lunatic.

  4. There is nobody pound for pound tougher than John Stockton. Nobody! He played hurt all throughout his career. John missed just 22 games in 19 seasons. And 18 of those were due to knee surgery when Stockton demanded to come back WAY early. He NEVER missed a playoff game in 19 years.

As for durability, this discussion also needs to include how physical Stockton played and the era he played in. He fought for every inch and had a relentless motor.

Stockton's prime stats for 4 years in the back half of the 80s is insanely good. The Jazz didn't have the role players and depth to win a Title then.

Stockton played until he was 40 years old. Obviously at his size, going up against world class athletes at PG in his last 5 years saw a decline in averages. Nonetheless, many young legendary PGs at the tail end of Stockton's career have still mentioned being humbled by him and expressing how physical he played even at that time.

Stockton was also was a backup in his first few seasons. The Jazz didn't know he could hold up physically. That's so bizarre to think about now given how durable Stockton was. But to be a backup for a few years (still had a great PER rating for minutes played in those years) and playing until age 40, one could miss career averages from the front and back half career dips. But Stockton still has solid stats for 19 seasons. But the the 14 years in the middle were phenomenal.

The Jazz were rarely on TV in the 80s (small market) and archive footage is usually missing from most highlight mix tapes. People say Stockton wasn't athletic. BS! In the 80s he was unbelievable. Most don't see those highlights. And when the Jazz got to the Finals, Stockton was past his mid thirties. The nucleus of the Jazz wasn't where it needed to be in Stockton and Malone's prime years. Yet the Jazz took the Lakers to Game 7 when they were winning multiple championships in the 80s. If not for a last second Lakers shot in Game 5, the Jazz would likely have been in the Finals back in 1988.

For 4 years in Stockton's prime, he was averaging 17 points and 14 assists, not to mention leading the league in steals. For his size, Stockton could still have games where he collected a good number of rebounds as well. And don't forget all the charges he took. Stockton would take blows and come back for more. He would also deliver them and set HARD picks. Stockton was a flat out warrior. Oh yeah, and he is the All Time Assists and Steals Leader. What a legend!

Don't let the younger generation fail to see how criminally underrated Stockton is.

  5. Why would 92 be his last chance? Are you unaware he played in the nba for more than a decade after? Ill be sure to not watch your channel again as I don't appreciate misinformation.

  6. The fact that stock played with a cracked fibula is tough. I broke my fibula from crossing the street which i had right of way got hit by a car nearly got murdered. This guy was caoable of playing for a bit that takes guts.
