John Gibson’s struggles continue as Detroit is shutout by the New York Islanders



The Detroit Red Wings were bound for a stinker, but it coming while John Gibson is in net is becoming all too common. Gibson allows 4+ goals in 7 of his 12 starts, and while the Red Wings poor puck management and deflections certainly didn’t help, he needs to be better. the Red Wings play Columbus Saturday. #LGRW

    I told ya's don't get excited about first place Stevie will squash that 💩 real quick..have any of you ever been to basic training build them up and tear them down except we have a lot of old dudes and they don't have much time .so Stevie still hoping for that elusive #1lotto.meanwhile you have to put asses in seats . But must teach young the Bowman way . .so you hire some dudes who all have cups to appear in to win it .I mean kane after US points and goal leader debrichet more money vanny comp copp .but rally it's just another wait for next lotto

    Gibson is washed up he cant see the a shot 90% of the time. Meanwhile Mrazek walman petry playing the best seasons of their lives

    They scored zero goals and you’re blaming the goalie. Gibson hasn’t been great but we haven’t played well in front of him. NY dominated us.

    Wings have a tendency to play better than the other team for the first 4 minutes until they get stoned by the goalie, then they make a mistake that immediately leads to a goal and then suddenly thebice tilts. I can only imagine the players are in their own heads when this happens nearly every time gibson plays, because after that first goal the gsme was pretty much over and you could see it in the wings skating, it went from hustle to skatter brained and hesitant.

    Its amazing people dont realize the difference between einning and losing in the nhl is confidence and good habbits. Mclellan has not had a full season to beat good habbits in these players heads and people thinknits gonna happen sooner, and then you think a team is gonna play free and not hesitant when your goalie lets in a goal on nearly every mistake made? Put yourself in the players shoes: your goalie cant stop your mistakes so you overthink the game and worry about mistakes which makes you hesitant, which then causes you to make more mistakes, which then causes frustration, which then causes more mistakes that become intentional because you cant smack your goalie for playing so bad so you take a fumb penalty then another and before you know it its 5-0. This game is way faster than fans appreciate and one mistake can lead to a lot when you have a crap goalie and young players still learning good habbits.

    It’s pretty clear the Wings traded for a goalie ( Gibson) whose best days are long gone. Unfortunately the Redwings look more like a .500 team than a playoff contender. They looked bad.

    This team is night and day different in front of Talbot than in front of Gibson. I want this to work so bad for Gibson but it just isn't! Talbot is our number 1. Give Cossa a shot! Stop over marinading the prospects
