Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase are joined by Buffalo Sabres beat reporter Paul Hamilton to discuss the Sabres brutal 6-2 loss at home to the Calgary Flames. Paul kicks off a somber appearance by explaining just how poor an effort the Sabres put in last night, and discusses the brutally honest comments made by the players and coaches postgame. Paul also speaks on the need for change in the organization, the three goalie situation, and more!

  1. 7:25 I'm with Paul that Pegula needs to do something- the current standard of 'playing it safe', while yes, we have young talent, but there is no hope for the players, the fans, that something will happen- insanity is doing the same thing but expecting different results. I don't think we need a whole rebuild, but we need aggressive trades and use of salary cap. We can't continue with the best players- we need the Right player- those who will put their guts on the ice to save a franchise. My worry is, if this continues for the next 5 years, that Buffalo won't have a hockey team. As a fan, yes, I want a playoff appearance, but I want a successful team, a threat for several years, not the close call of the 2021 team. It's good to see a oddly successful PK and decent goals, but we need hits, blocks, fights, anything to scare a team coming in. Paul says it's best that it's mediocrity from the top down, and after 14 years of waiting he's gotta do something. I love hockey, I love the sabres, but something new needs to come. If we do a rebuild, do it from the top down.

  2. I would have been super happy that they lost last night if they didn’t beat Detroit and Edmonton the previous two games, cuz then they would be in last place in the league and on their way to the number one pick. But no…

  3. Quote by Hamilton sums it up, “this team is worse since Adam’s arrived”. It appears that Adam’s goes on vacation from October to April, and is not willing to make any changes during the season. The only person in this organization that should be retained for next season is the uniform guy, all others, players included should be on the hot seat.

  4. I’d like to take a ride in Way Back machine and throw a “What If” out there.

WHAT IF the Sabres decided to allow Eichel to get that neck surgery, which also led to Reinhart not asking to be traded because Eichel was? With everything else kind of playing out as it did for the most part.

The Sabres still bring in Don Granato when they did and that Roster, with only a few of the smaller changes were to play user Granto’s system where they only missed to playoffs by 1 point.

Do we think the drought ended a few years ago with THAT Roster, playing under THAT system, when the only HUGE piece we wouldn’t have would be Tuch?

Bottom line is, Adams has structurally weakened this team! We had something and instead of building off of it, he’s chipped away at the Foundation and made this team weak and imbalanced!

  5. Quinn, Power, and this years version of Tuch have been way too soft. I want the old Tuch and get rid of the other two but realistically probably all three if Tuch won’t sign here.

  6. another season for the sabres, another playoff elimination before december. pegula will likely give adams a raise!

  7. Power has to go, we need defensemen who are capable of DEFENDING
He's proven time and time again that this is impossible for him
at an NHL level, trying to move Byram instead is ridiculous

Their biggest issue is on the defensive side of the puck, when will they finally realize this???
    Wake the fuck up!!!!!

  8. They need a solid fight at practice. If there's divide then that needs to surface at some point

  9. Tried of hearing that they did not play to their potential. Adam’s needs to go and Lindy needs to go his assistant need to go. Ownership is not supporting this organization. Yesterday’s performance was pathetic by most of the team. Sabres are so soft physically and mentally. Power has not proved himself to get the ice time he gets. Quinn is invisible! Thompson is a turnover machine. Tuch is not in it mentally because of contract and should be paid. Trade a goalie ( UPL ) !!! This is team is weak from management to making players accountable.

  10. Hmmm, maybe the goalie you got for free from a team that willingly employs Hofer and Binnington is not actually the savior or even an unquestioned backup? Maybe we should pump the brakes instead of doing this exact same thing every time a Sabres goalie plays well for a handful of games.
