The San Jose Barracuda returned to Tech CU Arena after a five-game road trip and are 5-0-1-1 collecting points in each of their last seven games. A capacity crowd of 4,200 cheered on the Cuda and many were there to celebrate “That’s So Fetch Night” inspired by the hit movie Mean Girls with early arriving fans receiving their commemorative “chirp book”. The players responded to the enthusiastic crowd and came back after blowing a 2-0 lead. Ontario scored three goals on the power play while San Jose was 0-for-5 on the man advantage. But a video goal review after Luca Cagnoni was stopped point blank from Reign goalie Pheonix Copley showed that Copley caught the puck after it crossed the goalline. Cagnoni’s tying goal helped generate momentum for the eventual game winner scored by Colin White who was named first star. Goalie Jakub Skarek made 24 saves on 27 shots.
