If I were Slaf, I would be extremely happy to play with Kap and Demi.
Hughes must have known Beecher was available before going on waivers. Why he didn't offer a late pick for him is beyond me when they really need nhl depth (and a C). Not saying he's the solution, but they're still running without an extra forward.
Its not a demotion its marty's way of spreading talent down the line up. The team is stretching thin with all the absentees and so it makes sense why Martys doing it
I think Bolduc with Cole and Suzy should play together from now on.
Slaf is a line driver, and Kapanen and Demidov will benefit from him
I think first line without Slaf won't be so efficient as before and I think Slaf will take more passes from Demidov, like it wasn't from Suzuki and Caufield, so more goals and points, if it's good for team never mind, hopefully STL know what he is doing 🙂
Suziki is a good player, but we need a better first line centre.
I think people were forgetting that we are such a young team because we had such a strong start. Forgetting maybe how bad the start was last year.
Marty gives them 7 min ice or two shifts lots of patience
Does no one want Roy
Slaf would look great at Center. Recently he’s been playing further back in the D zone and he’d really work with his weight in the dot
I didn't feel like Bolduc was a good fit on Suzuki's line…
Caufield-Suzuki-Demidov
Bolduc-Kapanen-Slaf
Davidson-Evans-Anderson
or
Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
Bolduc-Kapanen-Demidov
Davidson-Evans-Anderson
imo
Talking about a core 4, that worked out great for Toronto.
Slaf should've started his career on the 2nd or 3rd line to begin with..plus he never developed in the ahl. It's no wonder he still has off nights finding his game
Anyone who does not understand what Slaf brings to the team is probably not paying attention to anything other than G-A-Pts stats. (I will leave it at that.) Regarding the switch in the top 6 lines, there is chemistry prevoiusly developing between Demidov and Kapanen (in 5v5) and Slaf (PP1). Go back and look at the first night Demidov went to PP1 (vs. Canucks) and notice how well Slaf and Demidov enjoyed playing with each other that night (Slaf got a PP goal from a Demidov assist). This line is exciting to me! And let's remember that Bolduc played on the Blues second line last year. Let's give him a chance and see what he can do on our Top 6! Most of all…remember not to freak out after every game with wild fluctuations of opinion. We have a young team and they are learning how to play together in the NHL. Be patient.
I don't know if this is a good take, but the 2nd line struggled on zone entries without Newhook. Slafkofsky really looks to benefit the line on entries, and Juraj is a nice line driver once they find chemistry on the 2nd line again. If this works out, I mean they looked good despite loosing, I believe the fans should quiet up about MSL already.
MSL needs to stop messing with what is actually working. The top line is great. Just make a better second line.
If the goal with Slaf being with Kapanen and Demidov is to up their 5 on 5 time, it can work although Bolduc has to carry his weight more if he's going to be playing with Suzuki and Caufield and be a lot more defensively responsible. Bolduc I am not so sure if he can handle the extra responsibilities yet. One thing they have to do on the PP, put Slaf right in front of the goalie again….getting away from this was a mistake and not only allows the opposing goalie to see a lot more, but opposing defenders are not distracted leaving them to harass the bumper more easily. Take note of the formation of the game-tying goal vs CBJ on Monday night.
Hopefully we can get 2 lines out of it if we get Bolduc to get his touch back.
What frustrates me about Slaf is that he can dominate a platform like he did on their 1st goal. He skated around the D ope ed passing and shooting lanes and looked like the best player on both teams.
Unfortunately I dont see this effort from him on a game to game frequency
I think I would try to go for Kadri , hes gonna have fun with Slaf and Demidov and bring experience(waiting on Hage), you leave Bolduc on first .. I would place kapy with Davidson and roy than gally, evans , anderson. Veleno out.
I hope the new line works out for Slaf. And I hope Bolduc can find his mojo playing on the top line. It would ease the pressure of trying to grab a 2 C from a position of weakness. Let's hope this team can start winning again. Fun show guys.
Slaf is him, to all the haters.
You know I was the one that wanted Slafkovsky to pair with Demidov. You know its happening. The great experiment to have Demidov play second line center with maybe Kapenen to support would be cool.
Just to note, Demidov has played center in juniors. So its been two years but give him time, he may be able to provide what Montreal needs, a playmaking center that can activate Slafkovsky.
overrated players
Never say core 4 again. Wtf.
Never would have guessed that something HUGE just happened again.
3 europeans and 3 north americans together. Could work.
