They don’t understand a damn thing, if they did it wouldn’t be repeated as often. Silovs deserved so much better. Such a lifeless effort, and soft in front of their net. The effort we’ve seen in the past few weeks is what we’ve seen in past years. Muse needs to make a statement and hold people accountable!
As awesome as he has been over the years, it seems like Letang is becoming much more of a liability than productive. It stinks to say this, but I wonder if they should cut a lot of his ice time away. I don't know what they do instead and I hate to say it.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, just keep it close into the 3rd with this team and you got a winner. This group cannot hold onto a lead late. And the shootout weakness is obvious. Started feeling good about this team but now down to earth again. Seems to be the same with both pro teams this year…strong start then peters out.
This wasn’t the Colorado avalanche or something, Nashville is a BAD team and the they just dominated the penguins for most of that game…sad to see them fall soo far after that good start!
What cost the penguins today was with just over a minute to go in that game was when goalie Solvis put his glove on a live puck to force that goal faceoff. He should of kept the play going. Had he not done that the Penguins win it in regulation. IMHO
How about Rust going off the ice for a change in OT while the last man, Karlsson is deep in the O-Zone admiring his shot-pass and it was clearly gonna become an odd-man rush. Rust went off for a change at a horrible time and Malkin was too slow to backcheck the Predators rush.
I think the pens are done. Legitimately good teams just don't lose this many games in such a short span. On top of that, like always, pretty much the whole metropolitan is within a few points of each other now. They're definitely in trouble.
Nice to see Malkin score. Huge smiles when he gets the G and it pushes him to play harder…. They had enough time off between games to come out a little hungrier than 17 shots on net! That late 3rd goal is gonna be a tire deflator… I seen Malkin jump the gun which left Forsberg sneak behind Sid and steal the pass, Shea left his position and didn't have his stick down, not the type of guy you want one on one with your goalie. He executed that backhand perfectly… Stamkos left on a breakaway in OT… I like to blame the goalies, but today 100% not Silovs fault!
Pens hot start made expectations too high for me and now the team is at 500. Pissed seeing similar play as last season, blown 3rd period leads, stink on OT and shootouts. Along with lack of effort, even from our top line which hasn't been doing enough lately. They get millions and lack effort?? Don't get it. Need our leadership to recognise what's wrong with their play during a game and call it out.. Get motivated. Not hoping for much anymore to avoid disappointment.
Another Dan said moving Ben Kindel to his own line is not an option. I couldn't DISAGREE more but the question remains if Rakell is to make a return wouldnt Ben have to run his own line? I just think other lines could use some skill to create more than 17 chances on net. All-around disappointing.
was anyone surprised that they blew another lead ?? when you blow 2 three goal leads who didnt see them blowing a 1 nothing lead ! crosby deserves an assist after centering a pass right onto the stick of forsberg in front of the pens net for the tying goal ! malkin quit skating and that allowed stamkos to score the winning goal ! malkin should NEVER be on the ice at the end in a critical role , no one should deny that he is a defensive liability !
Take away the ENG goals, and the PP numbers, and Crosby and Rust have not been good at all 5 on 5…the loss of Rakell, Brazeau, and Hallander has hurt this team tremendously…the dropoff us guys like Tomasino, Hayes, and Koopanan…yikes…really can't understand no Broz or A Hayes yet…must be a numbers/money thing…the Metro is a dogfight, and will be all year…we need to keep get points, and not keep giving them away
Hey DK, I said in one of my earliest comments to you that I was able to enjoy watching the Penguins again cause there was no expectations……i won't lie, I was swearing at the TV yesterday. Someone needs to tell them this is not a get away vacation and there is a job to do, absolutely no urgency or emphasis on a 60 minute effort, Nashville dominated the play. For a third of fourth game in a row line one 5 on 5 has disappeared and I'm looking at Rust who insists on dumping the puck to an active goalie, only to lose possession, and I'm sorry his gap control and positioning on the tying goal was terrible. The offense has dried up because they are going back to perimeter play and despite Malkin's garbage goal falls on him and Sid. But I am so glad you mentioned Letang, he has been such an impactful player but on the wrong side of the puck over the last few games. His turnover on the PP leading to a grade A chance, having no awareness to powerplay coming to an end, his unneccessary penalty! At what stage does a coach not have a point system or 3 strike rule? Turn over on the PP, -5 or strike one, stupid penalty -5 or strike 2, etc. Is coaching this team too intimidating for Muse who is letting the immates run the yard? Instead of limiting Letang's ice time he rewards him with more and puts him with Karlsson which turns into an extended shift where the Penguin goalie has to stand on his head. If this year is all about the last dance for Sid, Geno and Letang rather than doing what's best for this team and the season, than it'll be another wasted year. Win or lose who cares…..competing hard, having heart, elevating the kids and making positive steps forward is what the fans want to see, I haven't seen much of this over the last stretch. Perhaps someone needs to call out Crosby so he gets a bur in his side and goes beast mode and drags everyone with him. Deep breathe……..no expectations…….deep breathe!

Graves needs to be gone. Dumba needs to be gone. Looked like last year all over again.
Game should have been 5-1 Nashville. Extremely tough to watch 2nd and 3rd period was awful.

Thanks Dan! Always look forward to your insights. . . 😉💯👍

Slowly regressing to the "mushy middle"

Forwards need to score more is the biggest problem, I see too much blame on goalie or defence last few games.
Hey Dan, go to bed already. 😂😂😂

Ha Dan… the two Swedish girls are a better background than a cheap motel!!

Somebody forget mark Forsberg #9 in face-off, he stepped through the rye 🙂
Silovs holds Penguins in business, made great work and saves

Silovs was their best player on Friday

Man did anyone show up beside goalie? Horrible and shameful.
Letang is one of the biggest liabilities on the team .
Brazeau out has toppled the chemistry.
Keep it real. The Pens have lost 5 of 6 games.
Losses to Winnipeg, Toronto, Kings, Devils (shootout), and Predators (OT).
