The officiating in Isles games has been ridiculous for quite some time. Horvat only cut the player with his stick due to being tripped by said player. So how is a misconduct justified. Ignominious especially since both refs saw it and didn’t call it. The linesman stopped it for an injury? Are they kidding me I’ve been cut worse by my cats. He was really missed in those final few minutes.
Once again the Islanders barely survive. They are 7-2-1 over their last 10 its crazy. Barzy looks great out there and Schafer drove to the net like a power forward. There is now talk he could make the Olympic squad. I hope not frankly…Players get hurt in that intensity. If players get hurt and on the Canada team and they turn to him I would do all I could to stop it.

Funny how you're conpletely ignoring that Rantanen was TRIPPED by Mayfield before he made contact with Romanov
At this rate of overachievement, especially since the start of this grueling road trip against some of the best teams in the NHL, the ceiling for how far this team can go just this season is getting higher and higher! I would think few opponents would be too eager to face these Isles if the playoffs were going to start tomorrow.

24 ran a little bit of interference on Rantanen and sort of twisted him a bit. Rantanen extended his arms, but you could argue that due to trying to catch his balance. Rantanen doesn't have a history of dirty play.

LOVING Paddy Roy right now – that's sports baby! Played with a flare of emotions, determination to not be bested, and a desire to defend your teammates. You don't think his team seen that? Seen how Pads has their back? I said early this season on social that this team must play like a (unit), and Roy has 'em doing just that – they are listening to him, running his system to success, playing for each other … playing with pride and heart just like Roy did in his day. Exciting hockey to watch, has you impatient for the next game! 5 and 1 on a grueling roadie is terrific man! Lots to be proud of! ..last night, Roy was yelling at the defensive coach on Dallas' bench in French – my French is weak as an English speaking Canadian but I played the clip for my mother – it was hard to hear but she believes she heard the word "goon" and something to the effects of "dirty player in your day".
Given the suspension given to the Islanders earlier this season for a heck of a lot less, that hit had better result in some games .. JMO

Congrats to Stars fans. They've surpassed Leafs and Habs fans as the biggest whiners in the league. Then again, when you lose the conference finals every year and also root for the Cowboys and the University of Texas, you get that way.
