On my team, we ALWAYS pet our goalie when we get a chance to. Not the other teams lol, but our goalie has literally been renamed to “the pet goalie”

People are always overprotective about their goalies. Have to be. But in this case he was apologizing. In Canadian fashion the Ottawa player probably apologized after for overreacting. Sometimes have to trust the goalie to stand up for themself before you step in, if they are chill, you should be chill. Don’t wanna disrupt the goalies rythm. Maybe he doesn’t apologize to show goalie he got his back even if a fly lands on his pads, depends. Goalie always gotta know how important he is. Goalies are sensitive creatures.
