Alex Newhook out! Kaiden Guhle out! Now, Kirby Dach is out 4-6 weeks. The Montreal Canadiens recalled forward Joshua Roy in the aftermath of the Dach injury, but how deep is the talent pool with the AHL’s Laval Rocket? Shaun Starr and Marco D’Amico dive into those waters and talk about how some of them are doing and whether or not they can help this injured Montreal Canadiens team

  1. This is just a hurdle we will overcome and in the meantime we can get some looks on other players who may come up big Time will tell.

  2. I'm going to catch hell for this comment.
Whatever small chance they had of making noise is now gone. Therefore, I wouldn't be too upset if the wheels fell totally off of Shaun's Struggle Bus.
If they are going to be bad, may as well be really bad. Maybe pull a N.Y. Islanders in the draft…the players are millionaires, they will get over it…

  3. The season is dead and done . When 3 of your top 6 are hurt, plus your number 2 D, . Once Christmas comes around, it will be clear they're out of it they'll start to sell.

  4. Thinking Florian had a let down after being a late cut at training camp and he still got the sandpaper the forward lines desperately need ☝️

  5. Newhook and Dach out. Out of the remaining forwards on the present Roster you have two players who have 0 Goals. Veleno 0 goals 0 assist -7 Gallagher 0 goals7 assists + – 0. As Mario stated there is nobody in Laval that can add legitimate offensive productivity. Goaltending is suspect right now and Guhle who they miss big time will be out for another couple of months. Once again I state the Habs are in big trouble.

  6. Mesar is the Zadina of the Habs: bust. Habs are so lucky Hutson was still left for them after picking Mesar and Beck first.

  7. Nobody should be talking about Reinbacher unless it is in trade rumours. Just leave him alone in Laval for the year.

  8. Hi guys, I missed a bit too many shows so sorry if you touched on that already but was it not a bit of a missed opportunity with his face-off efficiency & PK soundness not to have claimed David Kämpf off of Toronto's waivers ? Sure he's got other quirks but you know what you get with this guy and he's also rather well disciplined which has been quite an issue lately, so again… Why not ?
(Also Shaun, how many Golf sets & bags does one man need ? 😄)

  9. Mesar Needs to play with better line mates. He’s one of those players who would probably have greater success in the NHL than the AHL. He’s a playmaker 1st, if his linemates can’t finish, he’s not going to put up numbers. Also he could use more grit.

  10. Most of the top NHL teams already have a host of injured players at this point in the season. Montreal is not alone with regard to injuries. So, they should still be competitive.

  11. 4 top guys are out for months. Goaltending aren’t stealing points. They have 4 rookie forwards now (Roy might as well be). It’s going to be a great draft, so why NOT get the best pick they can?

  12. Habs overachieve last year and everyone in panic mode cause they thought we were destined for the cup. Dach is in his prove it year ,Laine as well, gally and Anderson have another year. 27-28 is where the window should be open. anything before that is a bonus . almost every team has had a losing streak this year. the fact is parity has reached the nhl. 6 pts separates 5-28 . the habs are young and have struggled vs veteran teams . all part of the maturing as a team. the team has made great pick ups skill wise but have failed to pick up gritty players. you cant win with straight finesse you need grit and compete as well. i expect the habs will address that over the next two years as some of the aging contacts expire

  13. In March, I'd like to see the Habs trade Stuble (perhaps as a package deal) for as much as we can get and call up Engstrom

  14. Look there young and most of our players are 3-4 liners and not the best ones ! Rebuilding is a slow process and you gotta be careful , that said A team needs a 2nd line center period ! If its a capable veteran excellent but nobody is gonna give you a young one with promise you have to draft one period ! Where im pissed of is why arent you making one with roy or another good intelligent player who can skate ! It takes brains to play center not just talent , train your best as center at a minimum they become smarter !!!!

  15. Mesar will never be an NHL player
I saw him play 80 % of his games with the K. Rangers
No consistency no desire or passion

  16. Don’t worry about the Bruins , they’re living in the past. All we need is an Olivier kind of player to get us through this rebuild!
