OR, with the kings EDM gets such a favourable matchup they have to expend less on the first round to go on a run….mostly joking. It’s a reason I believe the leafs weren’t swept in the 2nd round last year as they got their most favourable first round match up of the Matthews era.

I have been a Leafs fan my whole life. I expected this era to end at some point. I am not sure if its a systems issue but the defensive changes in performance are shocking. The only thing that might make me ditch the team is if they do try to trade their way out of this. Knies and Cowan are the future, if this is a systems or culture issue or Matthews is simply never going to be himself again, start the rebuild/retool. I will happily cheer for young and new players.

According to witnesses, the Hughes injury was he was at the restaurant, leaned on some glass (possible a divider between sections / booths) and it shattered and cut him real bad.

Jack Hughes was drunk. It is not if Jack Hughes gets hurt, it is when Jack gets hurt. Jack Has never played a full season ever! Jack refuses to get more muscular to prevents his shoulder injury because he is a boy playing with men.

Big thing the Kings need to figure out for next season is a second line center. I think by now we're comfortable moving Byfield up to 1C. Danault doesn't have enough offensive production to be a suitable 2C. You would like for Turcotte to move up into that spot and have Helenius fill 4C, but I don't think Turcotte is ready. Don't have any prospects in the system that project as a top 6 C. I think we should be looking at the FA/trade market for this offseason
