Cowen has potential but Leafs like to oversell their guys. I think people here have him rated higher then what he is. I personally have not seen anything special with his play. I see an average player. Some guys can't play low level hockey but blossom at the big stage and vice versa . Regarding these players reported in trade. I don't like the move. I think Leafs can get better value for Robertson. He is a diamond in the ruff. More top minutes and he improves. If a trade happens it will either be a huge deal or one of little significant. I can't see them doing this deal…more players would be involved I think.

Kadri and Anderson combined salary is 11.5 Million. Domi, Robertson and Carlo combined salary is 9 Million. Leafs only have 1.3 Million in Cap Space even with Kampf 1.25 Million removed.

The Maple Leafs officially announced Kämpf’s waiver placement. They’ll clear $1.25MM in cap space tomorrow as a result of the move, not his full $2.4MM since he’s already carrying a reduced impact in the minors. Kadri should still be a leaf today. He offered the leafs everything were trying to get now, but now he's older.
I would be okay with trading Domi, Robertson and Carlo for Kadri and Anderson….if they could make the salary work. But trading Cowen would be a major mistake and would be mortgaging the future. At one point if the Leafs will need a rebuilt, he would be the centerpiece…if they trade Cowan I want Treliving gone, and can't watch this dumpster fire of a team. They are pretty bad this year, such a step backwards from last year, and I get its still early in the season and they are suppose to be built for the playoffs. But the defensive mistakes are inexcusable and cringe worthy at this point. Matthews playing bad…and basically no secondary scoring. This team could easily miss the playoffs…
