Jonathan Quick sparks benches-clearing fight after Rangers loss to Red Wings

A benches-clearing fight broke out between the Rangers and Red Wings after the final horn rung out on the Blueshirts’ 2-1 home loss Sunday night.

Detroit forward Mason Appleton shot the puck into the Rangers’ empty net after the game ended, and that didn’t appear to sit well with Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick, who stopped 40 of the Red Wings’ 42 shots in the defeat.

Quick went after Appleton in the Rangers’ end of the ice, and soon players from both teams rushed over as a larger skirmish began.

  1. the game was over, the net was empty, the shot was within one second of the buzzer ,, quick is a crybaby, you got pulled , you lost get over it

  2. poor rags players they cant win at home so they have to get their aggresions out by bitch slapping the other team…..

  3. Old time hockey. You don’t shoot into the empty net after the buzzer… Doesn’t matter how long after, you just don’t do it. I was surprised that the other Rangers didn’t start it up, but it was Quickie that had to say something

  4. OF COURSE after the final horn that’s when the Rangers decide to show the most fight within them!😫🙄🤬

  5. He wasn't upset about the two goals scored when he was between the pipes, but shoot the puck into the goal a half a second after the horn when he wasn't on the ice and NOW he's pissed?
