Talbot needs to be the majority starter. He's so much calmer in net, better rebound control and not scrambling around like Gibson is. Quick was exceptional well until the end of the game. But is he's fun to watch in net. Great GWG by Raymond, great patience and composure. Loved the two dark jerseys match up too, two great unis. Nice win but Rangers are awful offensively at home.
I get why the scrum happened at the end of the game. The Rangers took exception to Appleton shooting the puck in as the buzzer went. That said.. why did the Rangers mob Larkin?!? He had 5 guys on him almost immediately, and he didn't even shoot the puck. It looked rough.
It’s a nice bounce back. But they’re going to have to go on a run to make up for what has been so far a wasted home stand. This is a very frustrating team. Some nights they look like one of the best teams in the league, other nights, one of the worst.
Patrick Kane posted 1.26 individual expected goals today, the 6th best total in any game in his entire career. 1312 games. He had 7 shots on goal, 10 shot attempts 9 of which were unblocked, 7 scoring chances, 4 high danger chances.
For the day, the Red Wings power play when Kane was on the ice had absolutely absurd numbers:
If this is how that power play is going to run the rest of the year with Seider off it, it could be a crazy rest of the year for that power play. Esp if the finishing slump gets even a little less bad. Those who don't deal in analytics a lot maybe don't appreciate how ridiculous those numbers are.
Kane should be rewarded for this insane effort by being put with any other 2 players at 5v5.
The Wings have no leverage on Kane. He would get the same top line power play treatment anywhere else he went, and he would take the power play with him for the most part. And if he left, he would truly take it with him – it would not be here anymore. Not like that. It would behoove this coach to stop torturing this player with those linemates.

I’m sick of these reporters bumming the players out, stop with the negative questions to get a juicy reaction to write about. Let the guys enjoy their win, they played great tonight
Great effort. You’re gonna lose games this year, just like every team will. But if you play like that all the time you’re gonna win a lot more than you lose
Where is the jared dude who defended copps horrible play the laat 3 years to alex debrincats slow start. Now.debrincat is up to.9 goals.over 20 points yet copp in 19 games has 1 goal… debrincat barely is paid morw then copp. Copp is horrible. And our goalies are a big reason we lose games we have two backups in net both well below.900 on their save percentage for the year
Red wings fans have no clue what an actual good goalie is. Hellbuyck is good. Our goalies are really bad. Before we nut ride talbot go look at his pathetic stats the last two years and lets look qt his hot garbage stats this year. Talbot a week ago gave up 2 weak goals vs this same rangers team . He is an inconsistent backup

Strong game tonight, dominant third period, great job, guys! Also, I like Sandin-Pellikka on the 1st power play unit. Seems to have more flow to it.
