What the leafs need is a forward that can run the power play , play the shorthanded situations , make spectacular plays both on offense and defense. A master at setting up his teammates. That would be nice. I mean Zac HYMEN had a magnet in his stick for the puck! Oh that's right , these fucking idiots gave one away for nothing and they traded Marner away. Last in there division…..Brad Treliving needs to go…… you'll see a coaching change before the end of the season. Brad Treliving we'll have to show that he's done something good or bad. No draft picks very few prospects who are NHL ready. Not looking good, another rebuild.
Matthews has been dealing with some type of chronic injury for a few
years, it has been very obvious. He is not a great leader, and with his constant injuries, he's not worth what he is being paid; sad but it is the truth. Time to fix this problem!

Leafs are just not playing as a team, is it the coach being ignored by some of the players?… i cannot figure out how with the budget Leafs have, they can be that lackadaisical, they do not seem to play within a system, it just looks bad game to game. I do not think its Tre or Berube, i think its the players, some think they know better than coaches, some are trying to play systems coaches provided, it is a mess right now. The team is better than the results have shown, but losses are losses, its not bad goalies, the have been good but get no help….. Leaf need to pick it up, i dont want to be worrying about if they can make the playoffs, given the pllayers it should be a certaincy, but they need to give their best and play a structured team game, not play the way they are doing right now.

Leafs real identity…where their talent is is offensive.. They were built this way for that given last 10 years of contract commitments. So they keep on bringing coaches with a defensive mindset. In order to win you have to be able to allow your players to utilize their skill set. You can't turn star athletes into polit opposite of who they are . Another big mistake is trying to turn your team into the Panthers. The Panthers play a style that suits their teams skill. Only way to beat that team is not by beating them at their own game but to play your own style that suits your talent and skill. Why waste talent ? Enough with the boring idealogy that defense wins championships. BS. You play to own skill set and hockey intuition. Let the team showcase offensive . Out score your opponent. If that fails …at least you utilized your talent and skill on your team. I'm right…how? Bc Leafs have made zero noise in playoffs. Unless you want to argue they are not as good as they have been marketed in the last 10 years.

If the team goes to Chicago Saturday with the attitude "we can't take these guys lightly" they will get their asses handed to them. That game and next dozen need to be games where you say; it is going to take every thing we got boys. The Hawks are young, talented, and want to be recognized by beating yesterdays, big dogs. If the leaf's don't get that, they are done, for real. Berube is right on, it is no time to panic, panic will get you nothing, but understand, every team you play and all their players are in the NHL and they all want to beat you and walk on your grave.
How can u criticize Leafs goalies when the team is getting out shot every game by 2 to 1 or worse goaltender is not close to problem

Blow it up and rebuild properly
Id say theres plenty of ifs ands or buts with stolarz's play. Every game he let in a bunch of goals, maybe 1 of them would be ones youd like a save on. Thats bang average, and while not as good as last year, still pretty good. Its just the leafs d has been so bad he faces a ton of high danger shots be never would have the year before.
What a total mess.
