Jonathan Toews is Improving

Jonathan Toews who missed over 2 years of NHL action has made his return to play with the Winnipeg Jets. After just 6 games, he has found his groove again, as well as his scoring touch. Is he a true 2nd line centreman?

  1. Yeah I kept my expectations low to avoid being disappointed but he’s already looking really good. Should only get better as well, especially if he and Perfetti can get some chemistry once he’s back. The fact that he’s still phenomenal at faceoffs alone is a huge help, especially on the PK

  2. The X factor will be on how he will influence the team off the ice.

He did captain the blackhawks to 3 Stanley cups. That pedigree will be valuable to the other players.

  3. TBH I wasn't expecting this much this fast.

He really hasn't looked out of place in any of the situations and he seems to be getting better and better.
it's clear he still has the eyes and hands … and can win faceoffs… he's never been blindingly fast, but he isn't "slow" to my eye.

what has impressed me is the small plays he's made to find space and time. He still has an elite ability to see the ice and make the right play….

the time frame is short and he could easily fall off as the number of games goes up….
but he's looking like he could be a Huge asset going forward. say 50+ points 15 goals and some big moments

  4. Tazer is the smartest player on the ice every shift. Once Fets gets in stride, he will feed him back door and fill the net. He protects the bisquit better than anyone. What an incredible addition to our team. 65% in the dot is insane stat..We start with the puck…The Jets are so much stronger thru all lines..Anxious to buy my #19 white jersey this friday…giddy up

  5. Looking wayyyy ahead but only concern would be if he’s playing big minutes in a series against a rush team like the Avalanche

  6. The thing is, he’s not even that slow. he’s by no means fast, but the stats say he’s only slightly slower than Scheifele. Also, he’s never been that fast he relies on his high IQ, which he definitely still has.

  7. Toews has 4 points in 6 games, 1 goal 4 assists -2. Ehlers has 1 assist in 6 games +1.

  8. He didn't score in the Nashville game because it was a blowout and would have meant nothing. In true Toews fashion his first goal is clutch.

  9. Given his age, we need to manage his minutes. Once Lowry and CP returns, we should sit him out few games just to keep him fresh. With the depth we have, definitely we can accommodate. Let's not forget he is 37 and will be 38 when playoff is in full swing.

  10. You can put Toews with almost anyone and he'll make the line better. A lot of flexibility for the coaches with this type of player.

  11. Also I have one modification for your name of the second line. How about the “unc jump rope line” then it will actually mimic the GIF (if u know u know)
