The decade of fun is finally over.
I don’t what game these guys were watching but after the 1st period the Leafs were dominated more than against the Bruins, especially the 2nd and 3rd periods. They were outshot 37-15 and the Kings are on a long road trip and are not exactly an offensive juggernaut.
With the lack of defensive play by the defense, and puck stopping by the goaltenders, the lack of defensive play in their own end by players like Nylander, Matthews, Domi, etc., is now showing.
Too late to do anything about it now, as it has been going on since those players joined the Leafs.

Coach’s system is archaic. You can’t get outshot every game and think it’s sustainable long term. Berube has to go

If willy is gonna be on the top line then they can’t use that line against other teams top lines so berube is going to be forced to put together the best checking line he can given the personnel options at his disposal.
The problem with this team is why they don't perform in the playoffs… they as a group don't have enough heart and passion or grit.. to play other than for a paycheck… not even sticking up for their captain and best player is all the proof you need.
The defense is the same as last year…it was so good with the lead last year… so unless there's a new system.. or new defensive coach.. they need to go back to way they played last year.
I still think that when they put Mathews as their captain put to much pressure on him…Wich changed the dynamics of his game.
They still haven't replaced Hyman on the first line and now they have a replace Mariner either. You can't move forward when keep going backwards.

Who gives a shit, Nylander is one guy, it's the whole fucking team, stop trying to Scapegoat the problems to one thing. The whole team has no chemistry and they don't play like a TEAM.
It's the house that Brad built the D is terrible gave up most goals in the NHL. Bringing back same D as last year they are slow and giveaway pucks. Need to make a trade for Stamkos and D man.
4 points out of first place but they played more games. 4 points behind at this point is like being on pace for 20 points behind..
With Kampf contract termination, there is room for demotion on one of these other 3rd and 4th line players to the Marlies. I mainly see anyone with a -2 rating or more on the season as the issues and it is mostly bottom 6 and ( a lot of the newer additions) a couple of defenseman.
As bad as the defence has been this season, so far. The Leafs have been horrendous in their own zone. Do not let the goals fool you, that's some voodoo-level puck-luck. Despite the relatively close(r) shots on goal numbers, the Leafs have rarely out-shot-attempted their opponents this season (I think they had one or two games where they've done so). And they have cracked the 70+ shot-attempt mark only twice this whole season. In this game, the shot attempts were something like 80:30, and the ratio was even worse during the halfway mark of the game.
Also, I don't know who's to blame, but here are some observations of the season thus far. They've been losing most of their board battles, the defencemen seem lost in the new system and are often caught watching the puck, they're giving away the puck in the neutral zone way more often than the past few seasons (very reminiscent of the Kessel-era), and the puck carriers are dumping the puck in a second or two too early for the fresh legs to forecheck properly.

What the problem is Nylander plays for himself ,Mo plays for a paycheque until he retires, Carlo plays like pickup hockey,Max Dummy plays like a Dummy, Dakota plays like he’s got cement in his skates,Roy plays like someone is holding a rope around his waist #34 😂😂MIA on Coke Since his 69 goals where the the rest of the D go the same Route 66 . The only players I see with passion is JT, Knies n Nicky Bobby. The main problem is the TMLE Organization As long as their Arena is packed with corporate suits n us stupid fans that buy their Merch. Why would they give a Rats Ass how the Leafs play. As long as I’ve been a huge die hard leaf fan since 67 I will never see a Cup on my lifetime.Ive should’ve never sold my season tickets back in 85 for a measly $3,000 I probably would’ve made Huge money selling my Subscription today . Leafs are all about Money nothing more nothing less.
