  1. How far down can a franchise dig itself and expect to eventually turn things around? Gonna sound pessimistic but every year that passes with another disaster upon another disaster – there gets to a point where there's no way to recover. They're going to be a never-ending carousel of players who are drafted and want out, players who only would give a sliver of a chance of signing with them has to be overpaid. I just can't see a situation where they can climb out of the deep, deep grave that they've dug for themselves.

  2. LaFontaine skating out of the building faster than he did in it was all anybody needed to know that the Sabres are the last place you want to work in Hockey 😡

  3. Adams was in Toronto meeting with Ken Holland— GM of the visiting LA Kings.
Bowen Byram and Warren Foegele were again- topics of discussion.
Brendan Shanahan isn’t taking Terry Pegula’s role in Hockey Operations.
Kevyn Adams isn’t going to be unceremoniously fired during the final year of his contract-
He’s been a loyal hand for Pegula- pulling levers for the owner and taking blame for many of Terry’s decisions. That type of loyalty gets rewarded inside of a corporate structure. He’ll be elevated.
Then Jarmo will step in as GM before FA begins and he will sign Artemi 🍞 Panarin and hire Torts to light a fire inside that room.
Lindy Ruff will fade into the Lake Erie sunset and retire a fisherman with no trophy.🎣

  4. One thing I never thought about was that Brendan shanahan is working for the league. I could see them urging TP to do something. I think that's the only way his hand is forced.

  5. I agree about the shift this week. Thompson and Tuch playing awful and in Utah was brutal. Thompson was pouting at least as bad as Peterka last year.
We need new vision, I agreed

  6. The injuries have been so brutal, it's obviously not fair to judge this season as if it's been anything like normal. That doesn't mean that the front office won't face consequences, but it's not fair.

  7. Dylan‘s a mess we kind of seen the player he is and he’s just not gonna be anything to really miss if he was here. We would just complain that he’s not better than he is. We all wanted him to be something special. He’s just who he is still not responsible in his own end. Don’t count on him to be a factor and he occasionally chip in.

  8. Kevyn Adams still having a job is proof that Terry Pegula doesnt give a damn about the fans. You guys mentioned the 05-06 team that fans adore. A lot of guys from that team have jobs in hockey ops departments throughout the league and none of the notables work for the Sabres. How Ryan Miller doesnt have a job in the Sabres organization is a joke, which is par for the course for the Buffalo Sabres as a whole.

  9. Despite making money handover fist in the NFL, I wonder what he allows the GM to do financially for the Sabres Adams has been awful with roster construction and belief in guys who are very good, but I do believe financially his hands are tied. I don’t think he can do anything and they all want the check and they’ll stand up there and say Terry’s great Terry lets me do whatever I want he’s given the first everything I need if that’s the case that you are truly awful or are you just saying that because you want to remain in the job and catch that check nobody ever says the owner is super cheap it’s hard to be competitive or build anything in any sport, they never say it, even though often it is true

  10. The Knox Bros are spinning in their graves. Disgraceful what TP has done to this franchise. But don't worry……..THE ANSWER IS IN THE ROOM. 👍👍

  11. We don’t use LTIR to help us. We don’t retain salaries to help us. No changes are coming. It’s just the reality of the situation

  12. Pegs is too busy watching the BIlls implode than to worry about the Sabres. He probably figures, "What's one more bad year for the Sabres at this point?" What's wrong with my BILLS?

  13. Let me guess you guys are gonna babble about the internal cap and Pagula is cheap but the Sabres only have 700,000 in cap space right now. Oh he should spend that 700,000 that would be cup contenders…The owner has paid every player huge contracts, Dahlin, Power, UPL, Cozens, Tage, etc…it’s time for the players to play better. Get new assistant coaches as none have ever played NHL hockey except Ellis who was a 4th line bum

  14. Kris’ hair looked great for 6 am. But not nearly as good as it looked on Pat’s Talking Buffalo pod the other day. 😂
Seriously tho, great pod as always.

  15. Here are some idle thoughts. Today. Right now. What does anyone think GMKA is doing? Walking around glad handing the staff at KBC? Telling them what a great job they're doing? Is he on the phone trying to engineer a trade or is he on the phone ordering lunch? Is he folding towels in the locker room? Sharpening skates? Walking 10 times around Harbor Center to get his steps in? Playing wastepaper basketball in his office. Finger tweaking wadded up paper "balls" through a small set of uprights on his desk while shouting, "It's Good! And Kevin Adams wins the Super Bowl?" I really wonder. When the Sabres are looking so needy and Adams has to do something but you don't really see or hear of anything being done…what is he really up to on this sunny in New Hampshire Friday morning?

  16. Dylan Cozens has the same amount of goals 7 and assists 7 as Tage Thompson. Thompson is – 8 Cozens -10. Why would Ottawa get rid of Norris if he still had gas in his tank ? Even I know you don't get someone who had 3 operations on the same shoulder 🏦🏃 💰

  17. IMO if they bring in Shanahan it fixes a few things.
    1) sends a message to the fans that there’s change and hope.
    2) sends a message to the players that they care enough to bring in a high profile front office.
    3) also think having Shanahan would get players to waive their NT/NM clause to come to Sabres. Not all players, but some.

  18. Adam’s has drafted really well, Benson, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen and Helenius are all great skill players. He made a great trade for Byram and McLeod. Norris was a major error but losing Cozens was no loss, he has mental issues where he can never be a good player. If I’m the owner I’m so upset I gave Cozens 49 million contract then he falls apart two straight seasons when he was supposed to be a 2nd line center for next 10 years. The owner isn’t in the ice

  19. I applaud your guys’ professionalism as the moments you are about to explode like us fans, you reel it in. Until this owner stops treating this team as an asset for his wealth portfolio instead of trying to win at all costs, the drought will continue.

  20. Terry wont do SHIT! He says he loves the Sabres but too prideful to step back and let someone else run it.

  21. Terry Pegula is not willing to do anything. If you allow this to happen 14+ yrs, he's not about to have a revelation, hire a President of Hockey Operations, and allow this ship to right it's course.

  22. Let's remember Pegula's the guy who thought it was reasonable when someone suggested that they tank, that they intentionally lose on a season-long scale, so that they could get THE player that would turn it all around. He bought that as an organizational strategy. As long as he's the owner, his decisions on hockey ops will reflect a casual approach to the importance of winning–ie, what's the easy, low risk, low investment way to get a decent return. It's the opposite of the push all the chips in mentality of a Vegas or Colorado. If "decent" is the expected standard, things have to get really bad to force a change, and that's what we've seen in the last decade. We're getting to that point, but I think the losing will have to go on for a bit before we see Kekkalainen happen.
