Lets address the elephant in the room. AM is a fashionista, carries a man purse, soft as a marshmallow, talented but un-inspired, a real 'trailer queen'….looks good on the trailer, but a no-go show-boat on the track! The Leafs just want to walk in and be seen on the cameras wearing some flashy clothes hit the ice and toe drag, cash their big cheques, go home and do it all again.
They did fix it. They traded Marner. They are all better.
The leafs has speed before and got crushed in the playoffs. The leafs need puck moving defensemen and players who can recover and control the puck.
I would support Brad Treliving and Craig Berube in their leadership is first priority to fix this cap-to-build situation because of Auston Matthews his leadership as his position as captain role could make a change, I would see that.

You can’t put Woll in until he’s ready because the defence sucks and you will ruin his confidence!?!? Excellent point! We should not be expected to count on a man making $4 million a year to play a game! Let’s keep the pressure off of him and let him take his time.
The problem the leafs now face is time. Their best players are gonna be exiting their primes very soon. They have mortgaged the future for players who have not worked out. They have very little in the way of prospects in the system.
They really should throw in the towel this year at least. Try and acquire assets for their vets. Everyone should be on the trade block aside from Knies.

It's called a rebuild, and everyday this team doesn't recognize it means an even more painful and less effective process. I would start by replacing whoever is in charge of keeping Treveiling under contract, the Treveiling himself. Can't believe the Leafs hired the guy that lost Calgary's best players for trash or nothing. And I certainly wouldn't want him in charge of 'fixing' this team.
Mathews was always the problem but you blamed Marner and shipped him 🤣

Best way to kill a team is to give everyone a no-move clause. That way everyone gets to leave for nothing. Marner first. Mathews and Nylander next..
There is a cancer in that dressing room. Mitch was likely a part of it, but he wasn't the only one. Nylander doesn't seemingly care about anything, and Matthews is perpetually injured and should never have been made captain. It is time to cut bait with these guys and frankly has been for a while. Getting rid of Morgan may help but it doesn't do anything to impact the problems in the room.
After watching the Blue Jays show an entire nation what a "team" really is, I don't know how anyone can sit and watch these Leafs with any sort of love or passion.
"is this a coaching problem" how many different coaches must these star players go through before we ask whether it's a problem with Matthews & Nylander?
