Jeff Hoffman, the role as a Closer is a tough one, you only gave up the run that was a tie, Isiah Kiner Falefa should have got a bigger lead off and if had he done what was expected as a pinch runner Blue Jays would have won on that ground ball.
Honestly the BlueJay player that was on 3rd base and got thrown out on a force play at home by millimeters should have scored their every single time. He was getting this small 3 foot lead off 3rd and the 3rd baseman was 10-15 feet away. There is no reason why he shouldn’t have had a bigger lead especially with the 3rd basemen that far off the bag. If he would have just added another foot to his lead he would have beat the throw home and honestly he should have at least added another 5 feet to that weak 3 foot lead he had. Base running is a fundamental that were taught at a young age and to not get a good enough lead their is pretty ridiculous and I would be list if I was a BlueJays player or fan, shame.
No. Dodgers fan here. Team loss, & you can go pick many individual plays on both teams that would have changed the outcome many, many times because it was SO close. He, like the rest of Toronto, played fantastic baseball in the best World Series ever.
Its a team game built on the INDIVIDUAL performances of 9 men over the course of two and a half hours. When your job is to get outs as a closer and you cannot get them then you failed your end of the bargain.
If the anchor in a tug of war loses his footing due to weakness and everyone else lunges forward across the line who holds the weight of responsibility? Yes, it is a team loss but one person failed to do his job.
Blaming is not the answer as baseball is a crazy sport where anything can happen but own up to your failures which he did its just everyone else here not being real with themselves.
Hoffman cost us the lions share of the WS but also leaving 10 men on base and batting .176 with runners in scoring position in game 7. Its unfortunate but Hoffman didn't do his job when it mattered most.
You win as the team loses a team bro. I'm a Dodger fan, but you guys played a hell of a series and have everything to be proud of but I understand the loss hurts, but there is a lot of factors that played into the win.❤
Yeah who throws a hanging breaking ball to a washed up vet that hasn’t had a hit in a month 3-2, coming from a die hard Braves fan! Fuck the Dodgers, money does buy everything
No one man loses a series or game. Things sometimes happen and can’t be reversed. But the game has at least 9 innings of play best of seven games . The Jays played a heck of a series they could have been the winner 🥇 very easily if things would’ve gone their way. Dodgers were able to capitalize off a few easy double plays to put the damper on The series. Great game Jays will be back
I feel bad he has to carry this with him for the rest of his life but there were chances to win the game before and even after. Hope the jays win next year and he can let it go.
He was fucking chirping at the dodgers players earlier when the benches cleared for that sleezy Giménez move (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Pqf6wK7I-0). If you include the fact that the Blue Jays have that cheater Springer on their team. Glad the Dodgers beat them in the most painful fashion ever in the World Series.
He competed, he didn’t lose the World Series for them. When you compete this can happen. Theres no scapegoat in these situations. You congratulate the winners and move on to compete another day.
Life comes at you fast Jeff. Maybe next time dont come running out of the bullpen to talk shit when YOUR guy was trying to get hit. Eat it. Marinate in this.
Toronto will not want him back. Talking shit and not backing it up is shameful. There is the minor leagues to find work. Thanks for inspiring the dodgers

He was prone all year to the longball.

Not your fault dude. Not any one players fault.

Not as good, if up you'll see it. Second isn't as bad as it seems. Fans happier, it's practically a tie, AMAZING.

A very classy person who shows true grit. The team wins and loses as a whole. Jeff's a pro's pro.
That’s what he gets for running his mouth during the benches clearing 😂

How do you think he feels? What a stupid question.
Hoffman brother. This was not just you.
Both Yesavage and Bieber had homeruns when they pitched too.
Remember what you did on game 7 against Seattle. That was dope.
You may not be back with Jays next year. So I just want to thank you for your hard work my man. Good luck in the future. ❤❤❤
我以為只有台灣記者會問這麼愚蠢的問題。

That's why the orioles didn't sign you
you sure did, mistere! You pissed off the Dodgers by mouthing off during the benches-clearing incident.
That’s what you get! For talking smack!
This guy was running his mouth during the clearing of the benches I am so happy he's feeling that way😂
