Thompson would be a great add. I could see something along the lines of a 3 for 1 from Dach, Hage, Engstrom and a 2026 1st. If the sabres want to be in the running for McKenna, they probably want to move sooner than later, to weaken their current roster with a deal heavier on futures.
Monty has always been an under .900 save % goalie. Monty hit his ceiling. Time to give the kid the reins and see how he does. Monty needs to be used as the backup from here on out or this is the rehabs not the Habs.

Hage has slowed down. Akit since his huge start against nobodies. Yes. Good. Great? No. Centre ? No. Winger in future? Yes.
"They made calls" So as every other gm… I swear only in Mtl this happens. hughes said he's always on the phone, or course he called them. Tage isn't even playing Center, and he's not defensively responsible. If you get him, he would alos need to be on pp1, which means they traded Slav or someone active. He won't score 40 + on a pp2 or only second line.
Hage other than the last couple games was at CTR with 2 rookies on the 2nd line. That said most of his pts have only come on the PP. Michigan has moved Hage up on the wing with Hughes & Horcuff to try to improve their 5 on 5 scoring
Tage Thompson won't be traded unless he demands to get out but if that ever occurs it will also be Dahlin as well telling management WE want out. Wont say never but I dont believe they will cripple the franchise, Their both too valuable and young still for the Sabres to move them just to rebuild or tank

People need to remember that Tage Thompson is a winger for the Sabres, a team with terrible centre depth. He shouldn't be thought of as a serious 2C, even if he could be a good player for us
Never, never trade Hage. No way we're winning the Cup this year, so stay patient. IMO, this year, the realistic ceiling would be making the playoffs and winning one round.

The "real season" for the Habs started last night against Los Angeles. There is a stack of very tough teams coming up. Montreal might find themselves out of a playoff spot on November 30. 😮

If we are trading with buffalo, I’d rather Alex Tuch. Kills penalties, scores, blocks shots. Cost would be big either trade although Thompson is younger. Go Habs go!

For hage points, skip first 2 matches, which are boosted stats, and stats look more normal, 1point per gameish
