Let me know your thoughts on the Canucks likely moving on from Juolevi
Could have had Tkachuk lol 😆
Olli Juolevi is not a difference maker
To think we coulda had Tkachuk or Sergachev in 2016
damn …..when the levee breaks
I fucking hope so
Sad but not that surprising. I was probably one of the few who held out some hope for Juolevi but at some point, the Canucks have to move on. Some team desperate enough might pick him up as a reclamation project. A 5th overall pick, making league minimum might be an attractive option so a team wouldn't be saddled with him after this season.
He's never impressed me. A 5th overall pick that turned out to be garbage. Now not even worth for a 7 round pick. Be best if he retired
If he is waived, I kind of hope the Sabres pick him up. With it looking like the Sabres may be moving Dahlin to a winger (don't ask…I still have the facial tick from that announcement today), we might need another defenseman.
Stop gf
One small move, another video.
Could have been developed all last year but Green has a hard time trying to develop young talent.
He a Loser
The 2016 draft was really a disaster for Canucks and Lockwood only player with a chance and when you see 2 picks after Canucks drafted him Adam Fox was drafted , painful .
Giving up on him would be the worst decision management / ownership can do. Put him on 3rd pair and don’t put 100 expectations on the kid. He’s defensively sound & can easily be a NHL mainstay on a blue line. Also gotta consider how NHL teams used to develop Defensemen for a few years before making them a roster player. People act like he’s 27
WOW!! Olli Juolevi DONE with Canucks? I thought the Canucks were really high on this kid, but, there is a demand for young D-men, so I don't see a problem with them being able to move him for a pick—he may very well end up on waivers , if they can't find a deal for him ,and there's a half-a -chance he could get claimed. I can see him going back to Finland rather than playing in the AHL.
Don’t think he would get through waivers. If a good team doesn’t grab him, it would be crazy for Ottawa, Sam Jose, Buffalo, Arizona etc to not take him
I remember when Edmonton took Puljujarvi just ahead of the Canucks at the 2016 draft. I thought, those idiots, they passed on Tkuchuk. Then the Canucks took Juolevi, and my jaw dropped. Calgary was tripping all over themselves to get to the podium to draft Tkachuk.
Hopefully Bruins go for him
Problem with Benning is he falls in love with his draft picks too easily and that makes it hard to cut ties.Case in point, Virtanen.
I'm a big Benning fan but I'm really irritated that he drafted by position rather than best-player-available when picking Juolevi. Didn't like the flip-flop where he said there were not top pairing defenders and then he said there was a No.2 defender in the draft. It was also irritating that Benning was talking about replacing the Sedins and he passed on Tkachuk, who would have replaced Daniel as the power forward that he coveted. Always take the best player available or you'll pull a Juolevi!
To think the canucks couldve had mathew tkachuk and instead we drafted a defense man from finland .well done jim benning well done .
