its so dang cool you guys are buddys with filthy bruce. im jealous
Who's to blame? Kane, Perry and Hyman. Leaders and hitters. Oilers are soft and they have a useless starting goalie. This team needs to average 4 goals a game to win most games. Right now they average 2. Skinner isn't going to win you many games when you can only score 1,2 or 3 goals. Knoblauch needs to shout more and change his system that doesn't produce enough shots on goal.
For years is Goal-Tending. Implicitly Management and Coaching not admitting/seeing Goal-Tending is a problem and building a roster that is 'mentally' weak. No strong fighters for a goal. So in this order then, based on accountability: 1. Katz 2. Jackson 3. Bowman 4. Knoblauch 5. Goal-Tending 6. McDrai for not having the mental strength to drive the bus 7. Bouchard 8. Nurse.
in European, particularly in German soccer, there has been for 50+ years repeated and consistent talk around top teams, like Bayern Muenchen – all talks well known at least to Draisaitl – about Character of a team and very closely related to Arrogance, both translated in the sense of a team being able to PLAY strongly regardless if they play the last placed team or the least relevant game of the year. Meaning, no matter who is the opponent, you bring your A game and you fight as if it were the Champions League final. That is the definition of 'team Character' or 'lack of Arrogance'. Those are exactly what is MISSING for the Oilers, they keep repeating 'the Character in that locker room', but that is exactly what the OILERS DO NOT HAVE. They do not have those 'fighting characters' and instead they have the pinnacle or the definition of ARROGANCE, starting with McDavid and Draisaitl. All those cute no-look passes they keep trying, are the quintessence of ARROGANCE, their lack of bringing a 60-min game is the lack of CHARACTER in that 'locker room'. Don't care if they reach 10-years in a row the SC Final, the way they play weaker teams, and the way they don't show emotions when they score big goals (like Draisaitl when he scored the night ago from behind goal line the one timer in Dallas) and then showed zero emotion, is an Oilers' thing: Arrogance and lack of Character!
Bruce is old and the NHL has moved on in terms of SYSTEMS, which you dont talk about on purpose, the Oiler dont have ….#1 a coaching issue or #2 a players issue…..they have a Systems issue because they had to replace a couple of very good Coaches and there is an adjustment period , if you refuse to discuss that your pod is just another pickle in the barrel…..this is what the Oilers get? No wonder we see these results from them.
Correct! The team is doing what they need to get the lead keep doing it!
BB…King of guests!
What an absolute beauty!
Send Liplock Knoblock packing would be an excellent first step
Ownership needs to change. Because this is one of the worst so called professionally (Mis)Managed aka Management teams in NHL history IMO because they have been gifted a generational superstar franchise player & are squandering their opportunity to win another Stanley Cup meanwhile their window of opportunity is closing. I sure hope last nights beat down WAKE UP CALL by the Colorado Avalanche is going to put even more pressure on the most smug pompously arrogant NHL team management. Fans ought to start staying away and stop throwing their own money on a team that cares nothing about winning 😢
The Oilers can survive one Bouchard playing like the opponent’s extra skater with no passion, no urgency and no defensive effort, but not an entire lineup. It looks like the malaise has spread through the whole room.
Just a quick note: In 2025–26, Evan Bouchard has a $10.5M cap hit with −11 and 2 goals, while Evander Kane has a $5.125M cap hit with −4 and 3 goals.
