Good to see that bogus old record superseded. Tucker's field goal came after officials missed calling a penalty when the snap clock expired by almost 2 seconds on the prior play which would have put the kick out of range.

Growing up in the 1970s and 1980s, a field goal of 45 yards was often a cross your fingers and hope he makes it proposition.

It was good from 70. Dempsey had the record for a long time. 62 yards or something. My Pops once told me that he had a metal plate in his foot. It's crazy how they tacked 6 yards on to it after it was untouched for so long. I think Janikowski, or Elam, could have hit from this distance. Longer tries were much more rare in their era.
