Carolina Hurricanes Recall Gavin Bayreuther | NHL News

The Carolina Hurricanes have made a move to strengthen their defense by recalling Gavin Bayreuther from their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. Bayreuther, a 31-year-old defenseman, has had a solid start to the season in the AHL and will look to make an impact in the NHL.
Eric Tulsky, the Hurricanes’ General Manager, announced the news on November 8, 2025. Bayreuther has been a consistent performer throughout his career, with impressive stats in both the NHL and AHL. He has 28 points in 122 NHL games and 123 points in 247 AHL games.
This recall comes as the Hurricanes place defenseman Jalen Chatfield on injured reserve. Bayreuther will aim to provide stability and experience to the Hurricanes’ blueline.
