  1. I said it when they let them walk but losing Broberg and Holloway were two of the worst moves they could’ve made. The playoffs the year before both were showing promise and like the boys said you need that young up and coming talent in today’s cap league. The over reliance on veterans was a bad decision. A healthy mix is what gets it done nowadays. Holloway looks like a poor man’s McDavo and Broberg is that consummate puck mover that you need in today’s NHL. Good teams need at least two and then you can fill in around them.

  2. Why was Irf surprised that Hughes doesn't have trade protection until years 6&7?…players aren't eligible for trade protection until they reach ufa years…

  3. @CanucksArmy I would agree with your takes on Lukas Reichel. I’m not a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks however I have been cheering for Reichel since he was drafted. The Blackhawks didn’t develop him properly. If he was given consistent time in the top-6 with linemates who helped elevate his game and took him to that next level he would still be in Chicago’s future plans. Unfortunately, the Blackhawks rushed Reichel into the NHL when he probably needed to stay down in the AHL so that he could’ve worked on the necessary aspects not just the offensive and defensive sides per say but the mental side. Having a different coach every year, a General Manager who puts you as the second line center and expects you to be your own star. Not to mention the fact that the same GM said we don’t see Reichel as a center in the long term. So why would Davidson put him there and why did they rush Lukas’s development? Honestly, it’s probably for the best for them move on from Reichel. I know I’ve been really negative towards Kyle Davidson and he has a really tough job however I think if things aren’t looking up for the Hawks then they need to get someone else to fulfill that role.
