Daryl “Razor” Reaugh Honored by Hockey Hall of Fame
Dallas Stars legend Daryl “Razor” Reaugh was named the 2025 recipient of the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster.
"That puck was in front of the net just sitting like a chunk of sourdough waiting to be dunked in the gravy!" It must have been 10 years ago, but I still crack up thinking about it.
I grew up with Vin Scully, Chick Hearn, and Keith Jackson. Daryl Razor Reaugh is even better. Thank you for being ours, our friend. We get what you're laying down amigo.
You know, we all grew up wanting to be a play by play announcer. We spouted out any sources of play from football to basketball and many of us, even those of us who grew up in Texas, hockey as well but the color guy always found a way to keep the game going. It takes a special amount of words, the right words, to help that person paint us a picture. Razor did this and has been for many years. Great job and keep it up. Go Stars!
When I think about the Dallas Stars and hockey in Texas, I think about Razor first and Mike Modano second. That's how much Razor means to the sports culture in our city. Simply the best to ever do it. Mastodonic!
