I don’t get why the counter-point never gets made to the rebuild argument – I feel like watching mediocre middle of the road hockey is just as bad if not worse for attendance and market value. Look at the Canucks’ relative franchise valuation over the last ten years – it’s dropping like a rock compared to other markets. The building is frequently at less than full capacity. Why not just bite the bullet for 1 or 2 seasons, and then bring in the youth movement and some real hope?
my point is they have been rebuilding since this Management took over its so sad that the media and some of the fans cant see it. None of them can talk about this, or else they will get banned by the Canucks. Ray Ferraro is another one because his wife works for the Canucks. The problem that isn't being discussed at all: Canucks have the most over-rated, over-paid player in the NHL today. Elias Petterson EP 40 is a total bust. Canucks fans have been shafted once again. This guy is being paid almost as much as McDavid and Mackinnon. But in comparison to them, what does Petey actually contribute? Virtually NOTHING. His current stats SUCK. He is below 100 and probably won't get above it this year, just like last season. What did he do in last night's game? Once again NOTHING. No goals, no assists. This is going to continue all season. Long-time fans like me aren't fooled and recognize BS when we see it.

Always politically correct and never controversial, because the NHL has him and Ron McLean and all the other Hockey Night Toronto media on a leash. Why does it matter if we do support the rebuild or not? Doesn't this league have revenue sharing? Hasn't a rebuild worked for every organization not located in Buffalo or Arizona? Exactly. Basically every team that won a cup since the salary cap was introduced, have endured some sort of rebuild, and most of them did the scorched earth rebuild.
Is this ding dong seriously comparing fan support between Vancouver, a passionate Canadian market and Anaheim ?? It's an insult to this fanbase to suggest that they wouldn't be supportive a young exciting rebuilding team. We've had ENOUGH of this mediocre fix on the fly from the bargain bin style of management. Trading away high future picks for middle six meh and relying on luck and planetary alignment to even make the playoffs.
Bad take that Vancouver wouldn't support a rebuilding team. If management came out and said that they were going to blow it up and tank for kids, the market would be so happy because we've literally never done it in 55 years of existence. Just look at how people have gravitated around Cootes, Lekkermaki, D-Petey and Willander. People would definitely still support the team if we had kids half as good as Bedard or Celebrini, and proper direction.
