Josh was one of the best backup running backs in the NCAA, but, he was on starters caliber. Less wear and tear, he's a beast in the league. Alabama coaches when Saban was there, they just, they knew football so much.
and it was a bad pick ever since lol. Running backs in the first round have to turn out like AP, LT and Henry. They have great. Otherwise just take them later cause you know you can get quality much later.
Let that sink in, he wasn't even the best back at Bama yet the first off the board that year. As a Raider fan, the one thing Jon Gruden got right in that trade for Khalil Mack which still pisses me off to this day was getting Jacobs in that draft
A little misleading on the title. He wasn't forced to leave. They knew it was in his best interest to go into the draft. The coaches were looking out for him. He definitely could've stayed.
Thatās the difference for plant for somebody like Nick Saban and everybody else, he knows how to make sure not only is the program taken care of, but that you are individually taken care of.
As a Bama fan, watching him when he got a chance to play; I would always wonder why Saban wasnāt giving him even more touches. Yeah we had some really good back ahead of him, but there were a couple of games, where he was what got our offense going fr.
his last year he was great. the only player on the team that showed up for the national championship against Clemson when bama got their ass handed to them
Running backs should pray they donāt go early in the draft!!! U donāt wanna be a team with a horrible offensive line & get beat up on by professional athletes for 4 years before u can even think about playing somewhere else⦠Trent Richardson, Darren McFadden, & several other elite running backs that went in the top 4 picks in different drafts that possibly couldāve been Hall of Fame caliber players had they played for teams with elite offensive linemen like the Packers, Cowboys, and Eagles had at that time⦠Raiders were decent o line team with McFadden but Browns were horrible on both sides of the ball when they got Williamsā¦

If only more coaches/organizations treated players like that. And by ālike thatā I mean treating them like people, not just financial assets

That whole year i never could understand why bama started harris over Jacobs

The thing is Alabama is a pipeline every player is NFL ready by year 3
His mom was on the brink of not having a home it makes sense.
Because teams in the nfl got coaches numbers.. itās all one big company
Flex start in full ppr, omarion or devonta smith?

Gruden being the head coach def helped. š
All players were paid to go to Bama.
Every single former player speaks this way of saban. I think thats the best measuring stick for nicks character. We will never see his like again.
Harris wasnāt skilled for the league but for college they knew what they were seeing scouting wise
Ronnie Brown didnāt start either and he went before Cadillac williams
This after Mark Ingram derrick Henry class/es? š¤ RolLtIDe had talent for sure

Damn it. The bama fan in me hates to hear that. But good for him.
Yeah Damien Harris was there but so was Najee Harris
That coach cared about you and knew scouts dont read boxscores they watch film
Thatās the difference for plant for somebody like Nick Saban and everybody else, he knows how to make sure not only is the program taken care of, but that you are individually taken care of.
Iām sure Damien Harris was confused tooš
That truck against Oklahoma started it all. Dude flew up draft stocks instantly

So the west and tear applies when it's convenient? I don't get it. Tons of examples, but Henry has extremely high mileage.

The title should be "Josh Jacobs was encouraged to go to the draft!"

They knew youāre were already built for the league and you proved them right šŖš½
We all know JJ was good but cmon fans we know that truck move on that OU DB in the game solidified his draft stock
