  1. how are you gonna step up for your teammate after a clean hit and not even connect with a punch, then just give up and skate away. Pittsburgh bench is going to sleep after that one

  2. People don’t understand that fighting isn’t about if the hit is clean or not. If your guy is on the ice in a heap you have to stick up for him regardless

  3. Well, it would have been a good hit if head butting was legal lol. Not deliberate, but you can for sure see these kinds of hits can be pretty devastating.

  4. Should give teams a instigator and a delay of game penalty for stopping the game over a clean hit.

  5. The Wild had a guy given a match penalty and ejection for a hit no where near this high and dirty.

The league is about as consistent as it is good at finding competent officials.

  6. I despise the NJD… But that hit seemed clean. Maybe initial contact was shoulder-to-head, but I dont think so. A camera from the other side would confirm it.

Came here after reading some AI slop article about the game. It talked up this hit and the ensuing fight like it was something out of a Wings/Avs game from the 90s. Talk about over selling it. Lesson learned. AI generated articles are complete shit. Do better, ya lazy bums!

  7. A fight or scrum after every clean hit is tiring. Sure, stand up for your teammate after a dirty or questionable hit, but not after clean checks. If a clean hit results in a fight, then why not make it a dirty hit if the result is more or less the same? That might also result in players not laying checks at all because they don't want to fight afterward. It's not a good look moving forward.

  8. I was at the game. Dillon with a nice clean hit & the pens want to cry about it ? Hits like this are part of the game. It’s hockey, not soccer. The funny thing is that Dillon is a great guy off the ice. He was the only player to walk around signing autographs for the fans after the game.
