There is no path forward with two mediocre backup goalies and no defense.
Goaltending don't necessarily think they need to change immediately (particularly since there are very few options) but what would be nice is if they sent a clear and bold message after the 9-1 loss to not only goaltending but the player lineup too. Scratch Fredric, scratch Bouchard, and bring up both AHL goalies for 1 game to start against CBJ. To put some teeth on the message; a tangible punishment – with a chance of redemption the game after.
But to just come back same basic fwd/D lineup and goalies would be so lame – like seriously, who's in net for this one? Both goalies played terrible, neither of them deserves the start.
Doubtful we'll see a serious message like this though as coaching and management is so soft – just like the product we have seen on the ice this season.
We have an identity crisis. We want to be an upbeat offense and score points and we know we need to be the shut em down playoff team. It would be great if we could be both whenever we want. Get a lead and shut down the opponent. We cant be both whenever we want against everyone. We need everyone to commit to the defense. Defenseman cant be making backhand flip passes behind the line to a foreward. We need to make for sure passes. We need to be difficult to play against. Right now, we arent. We have no edge. Losing Kane and Perry, its natural. We need others to do more each.
Bouchard is the trade bait. Make it work Oilers.

If Colorado Avalanche gets their Asses kicked by Vancouver that will make it less painful. They are not a force of Nature. We accept we had a bad night that’s our fault not because Avalanche are a superior team that just got us on our worst night this season.
Bring back Klim Kostin! He's exactly what the oilers need. They're pathetic this year.
I would take Frederic out of the lineup for a game or 2, what he is supposed to bring and what he shows on ice are two completely different products that he's lucky contracts dont have some sort of performance clause opt out. I think getting Kapi and Janmark back is bigger than what we think because this team needs size and speed (shocker) and they add that, the team needs a real 4th line, not the left overs from the blender.
Hi Patrick, nice to hear the newest stats from the Team. O am not shure if it is right to say as a captain of the team "… everybody has to do a bit more!" . I say "a bit is not enough!!!". there is something deep in this team that has to be outspoken! After this they all will not have any arguments for such a shit! i dont see that Zack will turn it around immediately, because i dont know in which line he will play! we got no goal against us in AVL powerplays. so why we need Janmark?! what we need is somebody who is the leader and the bad guy in the team!!! if the headcoach isnt able to take the lead and mark the positions that play shit, than somebody else out of the team has to do it! not in front of the camera but intern so loud that they have to make a 180 degree circle by themselves! if they will not do this, game over, sorry. and for the staff: no line changes, every line is fixed till monday, starting goalie is the Condors goalie, basta!, no new player at the team only the goalie, in order to kill this 1-9 in my mind, ckeck and hit what you can, dont play wxtravagant, smash the other boys out of the ice, simple and ugly, but useful!!! THATS IT AND NOW GO WINNING!!!
I sincerely hope for Patrick they play as well or better against Columbus as against Utah.
Been extremely disappointed in the team these last three games in particular. Seems pretty much nothing is working at the moment, not least of all the goaltending and coaching.
As I said on another video, " talk is cheap , now is the time to win, and convincingly". It sure cannot get much worse….

I’m having a hard time understanding why they have to lose 9-1 to bring their game. They’re professionals. They were right there two years now. Do they not want to win? Why does anyone have to tell them to not play terrible, lazy hockey? They’re not new at this!
All three of those guys that are out are the kind of players we need right now, energy guys that can be annoying to play against.
Waiting for players to return and turn things around is wishful thinking……only terrible teams do this!

Drai needs to put some muscle on be a strong power forward start hitting punishing opponents he’s a big guy same goes with the defence muscle up start hitting opponents at the blue line no more backing up swinging sticks start hitting hard at the blue line
Until the coaching staff is willing to call out the bad/horrendous play of some of the players, this is not going to fix itself magically.
A broken clock is right twice a day, they are paying $10 mil plus for two of them, time for some healthy scratches instead of more playing time.

Honestly….I want to see them get beat up again. Then maybe it will provide a greater sense of panic throughout the club….something they won't forget anytime soon, and last throughout the rest of the season. I'm not convinced guys like Bouchard are getting it.
