Elias Pettersson’s underlying stats indicate that good times should come…but they haven’t.

“We’re up to a sample size of almost 2 years…and despite all the underlying stats that lead you to believe that good times are going to come, the good times haven’t come.”

  1. Can't expect a 100 point season when he usually plays with bottom 6 guys. Canucks traded the 2 players that got him those 100 points and replaced them with no one

  2. He never fully recovered from his injury. You see it when he gets pushed from behind. Even a small hit he's falling down. He's lost explosiveness as well. He avoid the tough areas, probably because he knows he can't handle it. It's not confidence, it's physical. Unfortunately, he's no longer what he once was…

  3. There’s only one stat that matters, shots.

He doesn’t shoot the puck anymore. He’s at henrik Sedin levels of passing off scoring chances.

There’s zero reason after he steals that puck on the pk he should be trying to pass off to garland.

  4. He will never play up to a 4 million dollar player and if he doesn't score 40 goals then Allvin should be fired for giving him this contract.

  5. The only stars that matter are: goals and points. All the rest is just noise. His output for 2 years is not up to his contract. Buying him out while an option isn’t really feasible for about 2 aeasons.
