Skill 9/10 but he had very late opportunities and the injuries and age caught up to him but as a career people want about a 7/10 which is mainly a testemant to how dirty the ufc did to him 😅
I have mixed feelings about Weidman. Although he is the guy who dethroned Anderson and he was hailed as the future of mixed martial arts at one point, I can't help but notice that his decline coincided with the implementation of USADA testing. He's essentially middleweight Johnny Hendricks to me.
He has a case for 3rd greatest Middleweight ever. He dethroned Silva, defended the Belt against him then (perhaps against all odds) defended it twice against some pretty big Names in Belfort and Machida
I GREW UP IN THE SAME PLACE AS WEIDMAN. He a few years older than me. HE WAS THE REAL DEAL. he was a warrior and we all knew it. The tragedy with the leg break was the end.

Unfortunately, his legacy is going to be notorious for his last win happening because of (arguably) the worse eye pokes in the sport.
7.5
1 eye poke 2 eye poke
Weidman is the Clark Kent of the UFC
I need this in a full length in depth breakdown!
How many defences did he have?

He ruined his legacy right at the end of his career by eyepoking Bruno Silva😡
I don’t think he was ever all that I mean Luke made him look like lightwork
Really goes to show your career can go in all sorts of unfortunate directions in the sport

For a tim kennedy
Amazing fighter he had a good chin but after the rockhold fight his chin wasnt the same.
No disrespect to the man he had an amazing career
A 9/10 is a huge stretch, the rating of 10 being a PERFECT career. Weidman’s career gets a solid 6/10 for me
Weidman is a dickhead that people just happen to like
He beat silva who was messing around and got lucky, he beat him a second time from a leg break.
He’s a mid/low level fighter. 3/10
Rockhold ruined him.
I watched his last fight and everybody was celebrating his loss including me💀 who else was cheering when he lost?
