He has scored 30 once, yes, but he is only 23 years old. Laraque challenged him one paticular game and Lucic declined and Laraque spent almost his entire 3-4 minutes of ice time hounding Lucic. Lucic scored a goal and the Bruins won. Outside of the 2 goalies on the benches, Laraque was the most useless player on the ice. Lucic doesn't need to waste his time fighting players like Laraque, that's why we have Thornton. Lucic is to important to our teams success.

Difference is Thornton fills a role on a team. He doesn't hurt the team by chasing around a player because he put a good hit on somebody in a previous game or this or that. Players like Laraque (the one-dimensional goon) have been exiled from the league. Shawn Thornton is capable of playing 10 minutes a game, putting up points and still defends his teammates. The Habs have Prust and Moen, players any Bruins fan would love to have. Thornton's role goes well beyond fighting. Two cups prove that.

agreed, can't stand people that say they hate him. nobody in the league that's as tough as him, is equally as skilled as him. that's what makes him so valuable
