I am curious to know if there ever was another Russian five on any other team besides the Red Wings? We had such a diverse team and yet they all seemed very close to each other.
Two of the best to ever wear the winged wheel. So great to see them both. It was an honor to watch them play as I grew up. Sergei was my favorite player in the mid 90's.
Welcome home 91! We have missed you sorely. You were my hero, along with the rest of the guys, when I was growing up in the U.P., specifically you though.
This is the best thing wings fan have gotten in a long time. Thank you to everyone involved.
What a tremendous presser! Simple but so heartfelt. Good to so both but Fedorov you could see was constantly thinking about everything. Like he said in the beginning and how he acted in the whole presser he was moved by it all. Glad to see he finally gets what he deserved for so long. Also respect for being so honest and saying he's choosing his family. Much love
Fedorov was my favorite player as a kid. Still is to be honest. I always used his number in anything I did with sports, including hockey. I've still never seen a player like him. I'm so glad to see him back. It's odd hearing the once extremely outspoken and confident Fedorov humble and shy as an older man.
I really loved watching Sergei skate. This guy was unbelievable on the ice. He played defense as good as he was on offense. He was definitely an x factor. I think the Illitch family finally came to their senses to give honor to a man who was arguably the best player on the ice during his career.
Met both of these gents in 1992 at a Wings practice as a 9 year old. I still remember Sergei walking from his Corvette. Thanks for the autographs on my hockey cards and the amazing memories boys.
Someone should’ve asked about the Sports Illustrated article from the 90s when the two of them went rollerblading at Venice Beach and Sergei told some lady that he and Nick were dancers on Madonna’s tour.
I saw him play up close in a playoff game and it was different. Strong dude with abilities like no other. I wish he didn’t listen to his agent. Should’ve remained a Red Wing.
It is so sad how your fanbase has to look back on legends to feel any joy… How about yall throw out your CTE riddled GM and your bum captain, maybe then youll experience a hint of joy instead of collapses every year…
I had the surprise of my life today (Friday) at Centennial Fan Fest when I walked into the autograph area and there was Fedorov sitting at the autograph table. He wasn't listed to be there today! What an amazing man, and surprise.
Legends. True legends. When will we see players of that caliber wearing the Winged Wheel again? I just hope the younger players are soaking all this in and taking the opportunity to talk to these guys and more importantly listening to their advice. What a treat to watch those guys play and the great memories.

sergei thought he was done answering questions from Helen
I would love to hear more stories from the players about the Dad’s Week each year. How many years did the Illitch’s sponsor that?
I love you Sergei, but are you bombed???!!

One of the best defense man and one of the best forwards of all time on the same press podium. 🤩
